    City Election 2014

If some candidate comes out with the campaign slogan " I'll vote to get back the land, keep the great park as is, rent out to farmers and reserved as open space".  I'll vote for that guy.

    City Election 2014

ummm...a former possibly "corrupted/wasteful" mayor re-running for city council and putting forth a last minute "puppet" mayor candidate is borderline fishy.. I wish there was another camp of candidates with no baggage and a realistic plan for Irvine (i.e something more solid than "slow/no...

    City Election 2014

I'm not a Choi fan, but So far Irvine company has done a decent job with Irvine, same as IUSD, so driving a few extra miles to drop off the kid in a new school sounds not so much of a big deal. Perhaps Joe should over-look that old grudge and focus on the new issues like the great park and...

Well, since you've put it that way, totally agree.

    Woah, Baby.

I find it interesting that every time anyone expresses any dismay towards the illegal immigration issue aka "huge elephant in the room", the same justification is always used to rebuke it. It goes like this 1) How illegals are working all the low paying jobs, helping to lower the cost of labor...

    Woah, Baby.

From what I've read, this was an issue back in the days when this business boomed in Monterey Park and Chino Hills, after media attention and crack down, getting through the loophole in the system to get on WIC and Medicaid is pretty hard now for visiting visas.  The ones here in Irvine are...

    Woah, Baby.

1st of all, I'm against anchor baby and the whole baby tourism in general because I find it disingenuous to purposely have a US born citizen who won't be brought up and learn to appreciate all the pros and cons of this country only to come back to the states when it comes time for college...

    City Election 2014

Honestly, now I'm thinking about it, maybe it would have been a good thing for Irvine if the marine base was just left alone undeveloped, used for farm land and open space. Then everyone can focus on the issues with the city itself.  Putting an international airport there or cemetery,  both...

    City Election 2014

@OC_Dreamer, I'm a newcomer too but I've worked in Irvine for > 8  years and that great park master plan sure woed me when I first decided to move here, imagine the disappointment now with five points moving in and the cemetery being approved.  Hey, at least it's not an international airport...

    City Election 2014

See, there it is again, why is it an Asian thing when it comes to not wanting to live next to a cemetery, I just did a quick poll today @ lunch with my co-workers, all non-Asians expressed that they'll either not consider or consider with a huge discount when it comes to buying next to a...

    City Election 2014

I've already casted my vote absentee, and honestly I really didn't want to vote for the Choi team because of the not so "great park" that they've forced down the resident's throat. Golf courses and tennis courts really ?  Before I was about to ink in the box for Gaido, I did a quick due...
