Backyard & Front yard Landscaping - Swimming Pools, Spas, BBQ's, Fireplaces, etc

I've gotten quit a few bids on backyard renos with pool.  I'd bet you could find a reputable pool builder to replicate that backyard for about 100K....add on a California Room would tack on another 30-40K. It all depends on what kind of materials you use.  We priced ours with travertine, salt...

How many FAKES on the Hidden Canyon thread?

It's a sad day when a real estate broker can afford a 3 million dollar house.  We all remember what happened to John McMonigle.

I would think in order to buy a 2 mill dollar house you'd need combined income at least 400K or else you'd be very home poor.

yes, but your calculation on monthly income is pre-tax and the mortgage payment is post tax. Just doesn't seem there would be much money left over for 401k, car, food etc.

Thanks.  So they take out 1.1 million mortgage out on a 1.4 mill house? Wouldn't that require 300k plus in annual income. Didn't realize so many people make that much!

Solar Panel - Which company to go with?

I went with Solar City and the cost reduction has been amazing(we're in Ladera and SDGE bled us dry for years). Seems like the rest of our neighborhood went with Baker Solar though.

Nightmare childbirth at Hoag with Dr. Mercedes Sayago and Alex Deyan

and it is very common to see nurse practitioners for routine office visits.  If you didn't like it you could have simply switched OB docs way before birth. I'd say 90% of OB docs use nurse practitioner of PAs in the office for routine visits.

Nightmare childbirth at Hoag with Dr. Mercedes Sayago and Alex Deyan

I'm a doctor on staff at Hoag and my wife is a nurse there. All 3 of our children have been delivered at Hoag. I'm aware of Dr Deyan and I would not pick him to deliver our children, however in this instance he did nothing wrong. In fact he probably saved the life of your baby and your wife. ...

    Covered Patios vs. Trellis/Pergola

The bids I got showed quite a bit of difference.  A covered outdoor room was about 35K and a patio was about 19K. But the covered patio goes way up when u add adjacent bbq area/bar etc. A fireplace really jacks up the price too.  I got a bid for pool/spa plus hard covered outdoor room at bids...
