Same here. We almost bought in PS, but determined it was just too far. I don't care how close In n Out in FR is...that's not how I choose a house location. I need proximity to my job, everyday shopping, schools and kids' activities. At the end of the day, PS didn't give me that.
Others may...
I still think the $7800 for 2 destination vacations and one staycation is not truly realistic. 1 Hawaii vacation (6-nights during the IUSD spring break) on Costco is ~$4,500 for a 2.5 or 3 star hotel.
The daycare expense is probably reasonable for SF or NYC.
Maybe you need to move to a red state and away from all those Asian people that you said you apparently hate....5 YEARS AGO. Why are you still living in Irvine?
Or are you just a troll?

I mean, come one....street...
a 2.5+ hour commute is doable if it's on a train and you're able to work will commuting. That's my personal experience. Not a bad option if you're job is in an undesirable (bad area, too expensive, etc.) location.
Which neighborhoods claim to smell the odor? From NextDoor, it appears it's mainly Orchard Hills, Eastwood and Stonegate. Is anyone from the other villages smelling that asphalt smell?
Some of the most important learning you do is outside the classroom, not inside one. Living on your own, away from your parents and support system, for extended periods of time in invaluable. Going to a commuter school can't replicate that experience.
That's ridiculous. You can't do that when a large share of Cal grads work in the Bay Area where the cost of living is significantly higher. That's a biased stat, like many are.
The next stock to watch is NVTA. it's around $26.50 right now. Will go to $100 in the next couple years. I got in around $22, but I almost pulled the trigger around $15 a few months earlier.
