Anyone know anything about this? Saw a mention in the Irvine World News / OC Register:

Funny to see those two posts next to each other.

    Retail Openings and Closures

This place has been "coming soon" for a long time now.

Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai (Costa Mesa)

At least it has a real and easy to use online ordering platform unlike Santouka.

University Town Center - oldest current retail tenant?

Hell yeah I love those cupped pepperonis. You can get them locally at Fresh Brothers but the best place I know of locally is Prince St Pizza in West Hollywood. (which is itself an outpost of the Prince St Pizza in Lower Manhattan)

18% Service charge - Destination Seafood House in Westminster

I think the best thing to do is to alert other potential customers. As distasteful as the mandatory service charge is, or not accepting CC payments, it's not illegal and I don't think these kinds of things should be overregulated.

    EV/Plug-in/Other vehicles

We've stuck to cars for about 10 years, it's worked reasonably well as a strategy.

ST Patisserie (Tustin) will stop selling pastries in July

That's sad news. Chihiro is really nice and the croissants here are top top quality. I think my second fav is Pandor on the Irvine side of Tustin Market Place. Have you tried their classes? Overall I think my fav place to get breakfast is still Dough Exchange in Santa Ana.

    Venta Spur / SR-133 Bicycle-Pedestrian Bridge

Agreed, my safety while walking or riding a bike is my top public safety concern here in Irvine.

    COVID-19 Retail Openings and Closures

Yeah, I have no idea how Micro Center has continued to survive profitably, but it's a local gem.

Miata owner charged with felony for doing donuts in Irvine parking lot

It would be cool to have a small track suitable for go karts or miatas in GP.

    It's not that good?

    Best Milk Tea in Irvine?

Tiger Sugar's specialty is my fav. It's weird, normally I don't like sweets.

Newer Irvine listings with crazy WTF asking prices from equity sellers

It's still a shortage to the extent you believe in unregulated home ownership by capital.

ah okay, I wasn't sure what you meant by your vague comment about disclosure

Starter Family Detached Home Battle: New vs Resale

I think you are thinking about a different house:https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-irvine-double-homicides-20170202-story.html Both houses are close to the railroad (which IMO is no big deal at all).

Starter Family Detached Home Battle: New vs Resale

    Well, it closed for 1,205,000...

Newer Irvine listings with crazy WTF asking prices from equity sellers

Oh wow, I remember seeing this at $900k in 2017. Even then, they were trying to sell it on and off since 2016.

New Apartments planned for Irvine Market Place

That's great. I would love to retire in a place like that when I'm way older. Would also be a nice place to put in-laws in a serviced apartment. I don't think there are any units INSIDE a shopping center like what's planned here nearby. The closest is Americana? I guess Bella Terra kinda counts...
