    coronavirus

Lean, Six Sigma, Just-in-time. Healthcare is just like every other business.  Just a few days supplies are normally on hand.  Supply chain originates in China, just like all low-cost disposables!  (Hopefully they are ramping up the factories to the max now that they are on the backside of the...

Please Please Please cite sources if you are going to post potentially panic-inducing statements.  (or has your account been hacked by Russian trolls?) This will not happen, since most essential (health/safety) personnel need gas to get to work

    coronavirus

Unfortunately, the fatality rate for 2019nCoV appears to be 0.2% (2/1000 infected, but data is still incomplete) versus a rate of 0.01% for normal seasonal flu (though the worst strains were similar to the 2019nCoV). Fortunately, it does not appear to be killing pre-teens

    PROP 13 & commercial properties

So you favor public school teachers having to pay their 10% contribution in order to receive half the payout of social security?  in your 401k scheme, is their employer matching? personally, I think that punitive approach will result in a big decrease in the quality of teachers.

    Dow?

maybe the right-wing Washington examiner isn't an unbiased source? https://www.bea.gov/data/special-topics/distribution-of-personal-income https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/dataviz/dfa/index.html both say for the bottom 80%, wealth is lower now than in 2007

the average american?  50% don't even have a retirement account that contains equities, and wages for the bottom 80% have not kept up with inflation.

    Katie Porter's vote for impeachment!

I find it reprehensible that you, "gpquest" would call anyone "un-American" who has devoted their time to public service and who has been elected.  Are you similarly labeling each of their hundreds of thousands of voters "un-american"?

Rubber seal isn?t flush on garage door

I did the side and top seal gaskets on my 2 car and 1 car garage holes in about an hour, and as I said, the parts were under $100 for all.  just needed a pry-bar to lift off the deformed old gaskets, and a hammer to apply the new ones.  and a little caulk for the corner joints. (I've never met...

Rubber seal isn?t flush on garage door

yes, normal after sun exposure that the rubber deforms, also as the house 'settles'. easy to replace with home despot supplies and a hammer for under $100.  maybe ?$300? to get it done.

    Quick trip to SF

Curious what do people think about the proportion of constituent populations of the homeless in SF and OC/LA: mentally ill (used to be housed in hospitals/etc): %? struggling poorly employed, but basically good citizens:  %? 'bums/hobos/druggies': %? (could be a poll, but I don't know how....)

How low can we go? 30 yr fixed at 3.75% with no fees...

I received a mailer from Quicken last night for 2.97% for a 15 yr fixed. If I had a 4+% mortgage, I would be all over that. Who thinks that we will see a sub-3% 30yr in the next year?
