    Disneyland Annual Passes

I originally started this threat over a year ago. Yesterday, I finally took the plunge and bought my premium annual pass. Today, Disneyland did away with the pass I bought, and raised prices and made changes to their other passes. I'm glad I bought my pass when I did! Disappointed that there's...

    Lambert Family Home for Sale

I think that the city would be more likely to approve than would the HOA. That said, I don't think even the city would approve.

    Lambert Family Home for Sale

The home is subject to all the rules and regulations of the Association. Hence, any significant improvements would have to be run by the Association. I doubt that the HOA would approve demolishing and putting up X number of new homes in place of the Lambert Residence.

    Mailbox Incorrectly Installed

I have a 4-box cluster in between my home and my next-door neighbor's. I love it. It's very convenient. If your neighbors are coming up to your house and looking in your windows, then that's a problem. But, if you're concerned with neighbors seeing from the street what you're doing, you should...

any plans for the piece of land off of sand canyon and 5? across denny's...

I'm OK with LaQuinta. What I hate more is the bus depot at the 5 and San Canyon. It's an eyesore that greets you when you get off the freeway. I don't wish that it'd be moved, since I don't think that's a possibility. I just wish they'd revamp the landscaping in front to hide it and/or at least...

Avignon by Standard Pacific Homes at Blackstone (Brea)

Really, she didn't have dimensions? A few possibilities: 1. She was being lazy and did have dimensions but didn't want to take the time to show someone who may or may not actually buy. 2. She doesn't have the dimensions. If so, this is a poor reflection on the part of Standard Pacific. 3. She...

    Retail Openings and Closures

Yeah, I'd love Pieology at WTC. The place formerly occupied by Oceanic/Yellowfin is perfect. But, yes, it seems First Class Pizza would have a problem with that. That said, while they both serve pizza, they seem very different to me. I'd love to see a Mediterranean/Persian food place open...

    Retail Openings and Closures

Garbanzo at Woodbury Town Center has closed. Too bad. It think a main factor was the fact that they were located in the non-food area of the shopping center, by the dry cleaner and optometry and the bike place. If they had a location where all the other food places are within that shopping...

Oakmont by Ryland Homes at Beacon Park

I was there yesterday too. Yup, sales reps in every model. Didn't care for them there, although they were relatively unobtrusive. I also heard him say that the stoves are standard; didn't hear about the fridge. Didn't really care for these models. I had been through Torrey immediately before...

    La Vita at Orchard Hills

Huh? The cars are parked in a semi-public space that just about anyone can access. If this is a privacy violation, seems a bit paranoid.

    Floorplans Archive

I've had a similar fantasy idea for such a website. But, I wouldn't limit mine to just Irvine. I'd love to see Google get into this; click on a dwelling on their maps site and get the floorplan. Nationwide. That said, I've kept all my brochures over the years, from when I bought my first new...

    Portola Parkway

I don't see this as being completed. The toll road traffic is still below forecasts, and this would only draw more traffic off the toll road. I don't expect any public official will ever admit this, but I fear it's been tabled due to lobbying behind the scenes.

What Temperature do you set your Air Conditioning at during Summer?

The room temperature also goes up faster the more difference there is between the outdoor temp and indoor temp, hence more cycles running the greater the temperature difference.

What Temperature do you set your Air Conditioning at during Summer?

73 during daytime. 68 for the few hours before heading to bed. I'm a very sensitive sleeper and the sound of air moving is annoying to me when trying to go to sleep, so we usually shut if off before going to bed. When the nights cool off to around 60 or so, we'll open the windows at night. But...

Drought tolerant, low maintenance, small tree

I prefer the green Japanese maples (non-fall season, that is). The bloodgood tends to be redder the more sun it has, greener with red tinge to leaves in shade. I actually don't know the variety of my tree in the courtyard. All I told my landscaper was I wanted a green variety. Kinda regret not...

Drought tolerant, low maintenance, small tree

Bloodgood is a good variety, I have a couple in my side yard in front of windows and it's mostly shade there with a bit of morning sun. They do well and look nice. The main one I have in my courtyard gets a lot of sun, but I keep it well-watered and it seems to tolerate the sun with only a bit...

Drought tolerant, low maintenance, small tree

On our plans, we just called it "Acer Palmatum". It's planted in our courtyard, a couple of feet away from the house, not near any other structures.

Avignon by Standard Pacific Homes at Blackstone (Brea)

Went and visited these this past weekend. Wow! Three great homes, three great floorplans. Nothing outrageously offensive about any floor plan. I could quibble with small aspects of each, but if I were in the market to buy a new home in North OC, these would be at the top of my interest list.
