    Dogs

We feed our dog once in the morning and once at night (5am and 5pm) but I think it varies. Puppies do need a lot of care versus an older dog. If you do get a puppy, expect to get some furniture, shoes, etc. ruined  :P If you don't make it home in time, also expect quite a lot of pee/poo. Once...

    Dogs

Congrats on your decision! I love dogs! I highly recommend adopting a dog from a shelter. Do you have little kids? Are you at home a lot or will you be able to give them some exercise (walk at least once a day)? These are some questions to see what dogs would suit you. Golden Retrievers and...

We're getting solar through the builder. $17K for 16 panels. The retail price is $20K so with the 30% rebate, our solar panels come out as $11K. How much is your builder charging?

Carpet costs and recommendations (with outside contractor)

Looks like I opened up a can of worms...hopefully my builder doesn't read this and retract it  :P My builder did also mention that we can go with another lender as long as they're ok with closing with bare floors. So I'm guessing the bare floor thing is not really city code...but more like...

    Foster Kids Event at Disneyland

Came across this today, thought it's pretty cool:https://togetherwerise.org/disney You can donate and/or volunteer alone (free) or with a group of 5 people (raise $1600, and includes admission for all 5). I'm thinking of finding 4 other people to do it with me, only thing is I'm not sure if we...

Carpet costs and recommendations (with outside contractor)

Yea, Brookfield is allowing bare floors if we go through their preferred bank. Vinyl must be installed in the kitchen/bathrooms though.

Carpet costs and recommendations (with outside contractor)

Thanks! Does that include install and demo? I think after subtracting the allowance, it's pretty comparable to the builder but I won't have to add it to the price of my home. OOO The Times Square is nice! I'm thinking of the Park Avenue but still wide open. There are so many options! My...

Stonegate HOA warning letter on ads at my door

Dang. My current house (no HOA) has TONS of ads at the door, so annoying. I clean them once in a blue  moon. I guess I'll have to do it every day once I move to an HOA community...  :-\

Carpet costs and recommendations (with outside contractor)

Bump! I'm in the process of choosing flooring right now and would love to get an idea of what people are paying for carpet (and hardwood) with outside contractors as well. Builder is quoting $49 per sq. yd. for a high density nylon Moda Carpet. This seems high and I'm not sure I want to spend...

    Junk fooding

I don't know if by "tackling burgers" you mean finishing them or not making a mess. I assumed the latter, so here's apparently the "perfect" way to hold a burger:http://kotaku.com/the-perfect-way-to-hold-a-hamburger-proven-by-science-1513085238

How much did u pay for water softner?

What's the difference between a water conditioner and a water softener?

How much did u pay for water softner?

We chose the water softener pre-plumb option through the builder. Would we still have to pay $500 for installation when we buy our water softener later or is it more of a "plug in and wala!" thing?

So the secret to Pavilions/Vons is you need to download their app and add in the coupons. They usually have a lot of coupons. With coupons, it's much cheaper than Albertson's/Ralphs.
