Save the Memorial Park! Vote No on Measure B ballot June 5th

Ah okay, cool.  I hope this leads to some kind of resolution.

Save the Memorial Park! Vote No on Measure B ballot June 5th

And what if that city tax is voted down?  Voters typically vote against tax increases.

Save the Memorial Park! Vote No on Measure B ballot June 5th

So if No for Measure B wins, does that mean the cemetery indeed gets built on Irvine Blvd, or is this just going to get kicked around indefinitely?

Low resale home inventory leading to lower sales volume

Everyone's risk tolerance is different, but if you can be either cash flow neutral or even positive, and you have enough money for a downpayment without having to sell the home (or take out a HELOC), then I'd say hold onto it, rent it out, and enjoy someone paying off your mortgage as it...

I'm back from the IHB days and am going to buy a new construction...

Are the source of your funds for the downpayment coming from the sale of your WI home (or WE?  you said West Irvine but later said WE, not sure if that's the same or if you have two different places)? I do think it's odd they are telling you that you can't use a realtor.  Seems like they are...

Bestest Newest Detachedest Home in Irvine for less than $1m?

Yeah, I agree, especially if you are buying a home you intend to live in for 10-20 years.  Of course appreciation is a factor, but it's likely not the most important one.  Quality of life, how it fits your needs, etc are all probably more important. If you are buying a starter home with the...

Surging Mortgage Rates Set Off Scramble to Buy Homes

Buying the model often isn't a great idea, at least from what I've seen in most cases.

Is Burn That Belly the old Yellow Fever and is Eastwood overvalued?

I really don?t know anything about this backstory.  Anyone knows why YF deleted all of his/her posts and vanished?

    Cadence Park - Great Park

Ouch.  When you factor in the compounding by 2%, that?s a lot of recurring taxes (that can no longer be written off like it used to be due to SALT restrictions) to be paid.

Save the Memorial Park! Vote No on Measure B ballot June 5th

Great work, this is helpful to learn. Is district 7 in this map Altair?

Save the Memorial Park! Vote No on Measure B ballot June 5th

You being up a great point.  I too was wondering where it said that homes would be built there.  I was under the same impression you were.  That?d be a decent location for a retail center, as it?d serve GP, PS, and Altair, while also giving the HS students at Beacon a place to hang out, too.

    Frustrated with lack of retail

Excellent points.  I am thinking with that area along Irvine Blvd being built out, it?s possible we could see a retail center somewhere along there in the future, although who knows where and when.

    Frustrated with lack of retail

I believe Warehouse 415 will be at the corner of Cadence Park, although I don't think that's going to be a retail center.  Still, should have some food options, etc.

What do your neighbors do for a living?

Really excellent advice.  While I think Ramsey's advice is a bit overly conservative (and maybe made during times of higher interest rates on mortgages?), I have always felt it's wise not to stretch yourself to the absolute limit.  You do, after all, want surplus money to invest in other areas...

What do your neighbors do for a living?

Yikes!  Definitely don't do that. Everyone's opinion is different, but I say buy a home that you won't feel financially stressed living in.  As DINKs, I'm assuming you want to also live life and do fun things, like go on cool vacations, eat at nice restaurants, go to concerts, sporting events...

480 HOA with 5600/yr MR is pretty rough for a home like that.
