Jeffrey at the I-5 interchange is another common location for accidents. Jamboree where it turns the corner into Santiago Canyon Road (by Irvine Regional Park) is another common area for accidents (esp car vs. bicycle)

Yeah, I agree, I think its a horrible location. Plop a small gated enclave next to a bunch of freeways and office buildings. Go outside your gate and then what? Take a leisurely stroll down Irvine Center Drive? Bike to the Spectrum? Hah. But then again, I dislike the location of Laguna Altura...

I interview for one the Ivy schools. I will tell you that several members of the alumni committee refer to Northwood High as a "factory" and talk about kids there as being robot-like, devoid of personality, character and balance. Is this what Irvine parents are overpaying for?

Its the price point and size of the homes.  The 1.75M and up market  is kind of stagnant all over Irvine with a glut of inventory that's not moving, not just in OH. I would say its fine if you're buying a home you love to live in over the long term with your family, not if you're looking to...

No question, the Coto and San Juan Capistrano homes are better by far. The problem is the location is really way South and not convenient for commuting for a lot of people.  The North Tustin home is beautiful, but an older property. Some people may shy away from the home and yard maintenance...

very interesting, the degree of market compression. 3 BR Petaluma detached condos asking over 1.2 M. Meanwhile, 4000+ sq ft resale SFRs can be bought for1.7M in multiple communities, and there's a ton of choice out there. If you can afford it, the big houses are definitely a better "deal"

I think it is definitely way cheaper to rent rather than buy an equivalent property in Irvine. 4 BR house, sells for 1 million, rented out for 4,000 a month????
