OK, this was unexpected..... give me your opinion.

My husband and I discussed this last night, and then more this morning, and also read all your responses, and we have decided NOT to buy this home. It is nice, but it is not perfect, and in no way close to my dream home, and I know that we would grow out of it when my two youngest get a bit...

OK, this was unexpected..... give me your opinion.

It was after my offer was not accepted on this place that I reassessed and made the decision I really love TR. But I also really love Monterrey style houses, and not so much the homes you find in TR. So if I could only pick this house up and move it to TR then I would not be second guessing...

OK, this was unexpected..... give me your opinion.

You may remember that I made an offer on a short sale back in April, but mine was not the offer accepted. Well, today a get a call from the agent who says the buyer walked and I was the second in line, so do I still want the house....... Huh? I don't know. Do I? Please take a look at the...

Have you narrowed down where & what you will buy?

I love Turtle Rock as a neighborhood, so will likely buy something there someday. But if I was not so hot and bothered by Mella Roos, then I would buy the #4 at Paloma - Portola Springs. http://bkf.brookfieldsouthland.com/bkf/newhomes/floorplans.asp?CommunityID=por&MenuName=4

    25 Things About You

    1. I spent my childhood in the back woods of Iowa in a town with only 625 people, where I was the town newspaper delivery girl and was frequently flashed by a pervert and attacked by dogs. 2. I have mild OCD and clean the house pretty much off and on all day long, cannot stand odd numbers...

Quality of life in Irvine vs. Tustin Ranch

    Sushi in Irvine

Only in a California forum will someone ask about Sushi and get a FIVE PAGE response. LOL There are too many responses and Japanese names flying around to decipher. Bottomline: Where is the best Sushi for the best price in Irvine? I am a lady on a budget.

18 Bayberry Way in University Park

Bathrooms looked pretty good..... and at least it wasn't those redneck oak cabinets in the kitchen. I just like seeing some downward movement.

    IHB Rice thread

I only use Indian Basmati Rice. They sell something like a 20 pound bag at Costco for around $18. Whereas only 4 pounds at market is $9. I first wash the rice until the water runs clear, then soak for 30 minutes before cooking.

Is there a private school this good?

I read an article once about how this "luxury" is one of the last that families let go of - that they sacrifice all other stuff first. I would never pay this kind of tuition unless I was a multi-millionaire. I always just move to the part of town with the best school district and get it for free.

General question about the importance of cost per square foot

I am also no expert, but this is my two cents. I went to look at two townhouses recently that were the exact same floor plan. One of them had not been updated at all, and it was evident. The other had been updated cosmetically - meaning the entire place had been painted, new carpet, etc...

    Opinions on Liberal Arts degree?

When I was majoring in English Lit. I always got the "are you going to be a teacher?" response. But this is actually a great degree for law school. I think a Liberal Arts degree can be a useful education, but I think a focused grad school goal is necessary then.

Aliso Viejo - Glenwood - Pasadera

One agent I talked to steered me away from AV saying it was "too industrial" and that there are "too many apartments". I have never explored it, so I have no clue if this is true. Just passing along one agent's message about AV.
