I want to remove some walls... does anyone know a good contractor or structural engineer that I can have come take a look and tell me if it's even feasible to remove it and determine if its load bearing or not?  Should I get my homes blueprints from the city first?

Thanks for everyone's feedback. We've decided to go through with the tenting which was quoted at $1500. It's mainly for the peace of mind and that there's no better time to do it than before we move in. I'm just hoping the roof doesn't get messed up too bad!

Seller will pay for the recommended repair (the spot treatment and wood repair) but if I wanted to tent it, that's gonna be out of my pocket. I'm wondering if I should tent it to gain further peace of mind or if that's going overboard and the treatment recommended by the termite report is...

I remember looking at this property. We called the agent asked them if offering 750k was in the ballpark - got no response

So I'm in escrow for a home purchase and the termite report comes back saying the property needs chemical treatment in the attic and around the exterior of the house along with some damaged wood removal. I was a bit shocked by this being a first time buyer but after doing some internet research...

Couldn't agree more.  At first I thought these weren't motor court homes since street looped around back to the main street. Then I drove through the homes that were built and it was like driving through the back alleys in woodbury sans the nice front street scape on the other side. 

What are people's thoughts on which of the older northwood communities are the most desirable - woodside, park paseo, raquetclub, park place, etc... Is there a cluster in the non hoa communities that people like as well? Not comparing northwood pointe here, since those are much newer. 

Just think of the freeway noise as ocean waves  :)

It depends how paranoid you are about these studies. Obviously all the people who live there now and own there didn't think much of it or didn't bother to google it. If you can't hear the freeway while you're in the house I think it's okay.  But it really depends on personal preference. It's...
