    Aliso Viejo or Portola Springs

Wow, love this thread. Very philosophical. I am honor in the presence of graph, eva and awgee. (I look up to Graph. I don't think I earn my dues to call him a crakercakes yet.) "I.E. of Irvine" - love it! It reminded me when I first came to Irvine, I once made a comment...

    Aliso Viejo or Portola Springs

Panda, I went through the same analogy as you few years ago. I dig Aliso Viejo for its hills and trees. But I eventually decided to purchase in Irvine. Irvine is still closer to everything else. For example, LAX and other parts of LA. John Wayne Airport is only 10 minutes away...

Who is the mysterious Ten?? Has anyone on this forum met him in person??

Do you believe a real stud would spend so much time on a housing blog? If so, then I am Keanu Reeves.

    Wilhelm's Chophouse, etc/Culinary Adventures

That's too bad. I like Chat Noir and French 75 and they both closed. And now this "Americana" concept isn't working for them either. IMHO, they are in the wrong market. Try San Francisco, Vancouver (Canada), New York, Tokyo, or Paris... But not here.... esepcially in Irvine...

    Chinese gift giving

Hey Girl in OC, My firm has strict rules on monetary value of a business gift and who can receive such a gift. Assuming you don't have any restriction and this person is a very important business partner of yours (or your firm), then you are looking at a gift of around $100 (or more)...

Where do you get your Ph??

Momopi, You are good..... Are you sure you are not Vietnamese? ;) I like Tay Ho a lot. I often request my SIL to bring an order back for me when I can't join them for lunch. So, what about Vietnamese pork chop? Let us in on your favorite pork chop place. (I guess this should...

Where do you get your Ph??

My SIL is Vietnamese. So, I have my fair share of Vietnamese food on weekends in Little Saigon. We went to Pho Thang Long this weekend. I don't think they have MSG in their soup base as I did not cry out for gallons of "water" afterwards. The place is very busy. There may be a...

    Chinese gift giving

Very often, Chinese gift giving involves CASH! This is what I learned while working in Asia few years ago. I don't think they apply here. But thought you might want to know the traditions in China. Wedding - Cash in red envelope (to help pay for the expenses) Funeral - Cash in...
