Costco works with local vendors in your area and they offer a "Costco Price" (similar to their Auto program). We received a quote and it wasn't that much cheaper. Some people will pay for that "Costco" peace of mind.

depends on what you plan on getting. if you plan on getting something equivalent in price range, best to keep your gs. true, maintenance is slowly starting to add up but that still doesn't compare to a monthly payment. if anything, you're just trying to convince yourself you "need" a new car.

Window Decorators for us. We got them down to the best price compared to everyone else, installers were courteous and professional, and the product is well made. Only small drawback would probably be the longer wait time. I'll wait the extra couple weeks for the savings $$$.

+1 for Uncle Jo (Echo Family). Jo is the man and if you're able to work with him for landscaping you will not be disappointed. We are still in the process but no complaints so far. Jo's usually available anytime you contact him. Will update more once everything is completed.

Doesn't matter. If the upgrades are specified as pre-plotted, they are not going to deviate from them. The suggestion of waiting for later phases is in hopes that they would offer units as a blank slate for you to then choose your upgrades with designated cut off dates.

Even if you do receive some sort of credit, it's towards upgrades through their design center. Most of the stuff you listed is not possible (house needs to be complete upon delivery). If you do not want certain pre-plotted (cannot change) items, you'll have to wait for later phases.
