Irvine listings STILL going pending amid COVID-19

So I'm from the Bay Area, Fremont - Alameda County, and our home was about to get listed last weekend w/ Open House when the Shelter In Place ordinance went into effect. Then LA/OC followed with something similar, and the Gov. issued a statewide Shelter in Place ordinance later in the week. We...

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Who's the super genius? Ha! Yeah - I'm good with the caution for sure. Just from a personal perspective this throws a big wrench into our plans to move down to Irvine, and its not just the house selling, but everything else. Ugh

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Update - So the housing market up here in the Bay has basically been suspended. With the shelter in-house directive imposed today, everyone is either holding or pausing their listings, no open houses or showings through early April when this directive is supposed to end. We were all set to...

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

I?m assuming that?s far lower than expected or usual? I also got an email from a builder in Irvine releasing new phases of homes next week, which I thought was a bit odd given the scare of the virus. I figured they may slow down the phases a bit until things calmed down.

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Hmm, I've actually seen several open house signs up here in the Fremont area. Too bad the weather is crappy and rainy though. Our realtor mentioned assuming we go forward with next week's open house, we'd have hand sanitizers everywhere, social distancing, and will wipe down everything before...

Yeah - will gauge how a few open houses in our community go this weekend and how the news/markets go next week, then decide.

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

So based on what I'm hearing and 'feeling', I think we'll hold off on our listing (up here in the Bay Area) until early April to let thing's cool off a bit. Also the idea of potentially sick or infected ppl coming into our home touching and coughing isn't the most ideal.

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Salient indeed. I?m not saying there are no impacts, obviously there should be, but curious of what the extent is in Irvine and what the realtors here are seeing...

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Just bumping this thread to see more recent anecdotes or trends, if any, as the coronavirus fears and number of cases continue to rise. My sense is there?s been some % of buyers holding off on purchases and another % of buyers eager to jump in due to the lower rates.

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Both? We're about to list our home for sale in the Bay Area (Fremont) and curious how corona may impact our sale along with how it's impacting the Irvine market - which is where we're moving to.

Impact of Coronavirus on housing market?

Salient. And I guess the lower cost of borrowing offsets the drop in market or "fear factor" in terms of consumer confidence.

Hi all - so it's been a tough week both in the media and stock market with the Coronavirus scare. Just curious on impact on the housing market, if any.

That?s a relief, the one I visited, they had construction going on which kept things noisier.

    Padova at OH

Hi all! Just bumping this thread to see of any recent feedback or information on the Padova development. It looks like they're into the later phases of the development and we were interested this community as we relocate from the Bay Area to Irvine. A couple concerns we had had were...
