What is that tract of homes southeast of UCI and west of Turtle Rock/Ridge

Here's a better link: http://www.icha.uci.edu/ I finally drove by there and spoke to a resident. The place is very nice. I would love to live there. The folks there are more down to earth - more humble.

What is that tract of homes southeast of UCI and west of Turtle Rock/Ridge

So you can not purchase those homes? Wow. That is weird. It is a captive market owned by UCI? Interesting that UCI will build homes there instead of more campus stuff. You would assume the school will just tell their staff to go buy a home in turtle rock or something. There is significant...

What is that tract of homes southeast of UCI and west of Turtle Rock/Ridge

I am talking about the homes on the cliff when you drive up culver to your left. Is that Newport Beach or Irvine? I also see a new tract getting built by Cal Pac just one level below those on the cliff.

    Quail Hill Update

I remember looking at a property there for $1.7. I thought I can probably get it for 1.3 but someone swooped in and paid 1.65 or something. I could not believe it. The place was like a box with minimal privacy but was huge at 3600 sq feet. Quail hill was also out of the way...... With more...

Denied in Irvine - need a lender

You can't trust those rate sheets. When u actually go thru the process and give them your credit scores the rates are totally different. On average, I found my rate to be 1% lower than advertised by the same company - ie., Wells Fargo etc.

Denied in Irvine - need a lender

Gas, I just purchased a place. I have similar income characteristics and similar fico scores. Try giving them a call directly. You do not want to tell them that you got denied by the homebuilder tho. Gas, I sent you a PM.

    Ants in my...well, fricking everywhere!

Thankfully, I haven't had any ant problems inside the home just yet. They roam around outside on my driveway etc. I just purchased my home a few weeks back so it could be premature to declare victory on my ant-free situation. I just recently purchased a Ortho Home Defense bottle and sprayed...

What's going into escrow - Irvine and maybe some Tustin too

your thoughts on interest rates and government bailout programs

Nude's graph is very telling. I disagree that banks will absolutely make more money with higher interest rates. Banks will be in trouble -- not making more money when interest rates go up. It depends on interest rate differentials. If you look at super high interest era in the late...

What's going into escrow - Irvine and maybe some Tustin too

Ipoplaya, Isn't it amazing how Turtle Rock just holds up in price? I consistently look at your website and turtle rock prices just simply holds their value well. I gotta imagine that it will fall later.... but why it is taking so long?

30 Year Fixed vs 10 Year ARM

Just called PenFed and it looks like those rates are real. The financing costs will range however from 1 - 1.5% of the loan size for members for a re-fi. That is close to paying points upfront. The reason why it is so high is b/c they need full docs, the appraisal, title, everything.

30 Year Fixed vs 10 Year ARM

has anyone actually gotten a loan from PenFed at the advertised rates?
