All that I can say is that Villa Rosa's inability to come down a little more, say 5-6%, was enough to make me decide against seriously considering a purchase at this time... although I do want to buy... and I really like both Woodbury and that model 2B.

I'd be more concerned about living under high-power lines (most especially with young children). I'd live no closer than 800 meters away.... which places many of the VoC homes in range of those massive power towers running east-west on Harvard. And no, I don't wear a tinfoil hat.

I was looking at Lennar's stock performance since 2005... looks like investors took a beating...stock went from the 70's to low-teens in 2007! Yikes.

For everyone's information: It appears that Lennar has "pushed back" the release of the next phase another week or so... and it is expected that the prices will remain much the same.

Believe it or not, it probably is good news in the long run. I'm glad that you were able to cut the loss before it got too crazy. And besides, you'll be 10x more prepared the next time around - when prices will likely be more favorable.

who says buying a home isn't emotional? Wow! I'd keep some perspective on this deal... it seems like you are arguing over less than 1% of the transaction? What will you do if prices get reduced this fall, say, 25-30K? Run back to the builder and complain? Are you going to do one of those...

I agree that "model 1" is simpy a bad design... I'd personally go for the cheapest model 2 or 3...if you can call that "cheap!"
