Glad to know there is a home for people who are taller. The passthrough laundry is also a dealbreaker for us.

    Franchises

Before my wife became a lawyer, she was a waitress in high school. We have tipped 15% or less exactly twice. Speaking of franchises, it appears TIC has killed all of the indy ones in fashion island and have replaced them with larger groups. Anyone have inside knowledge of whats going on? Raised...

    good bye West Irvine...

Congrats on the new home purchase. Judging from my own situation, I am guessing the urgency was caused by a future akim in the pipeline.

By Christine Maurus     May 17 (Bloomberg) -- Mortgage rates in the U.S. fell to a record for a third straight week, reducing borrowing costs as the housing market improves and home-loan defaults decline.     The average rate for a 30-year  fixed loan dropped to 3.79 percent in the week ended...

Rebate on New home purchases - Discuss

Or just tell them the Broker is a family member. For some reason a lot of these places (TIC/TNHC) have an "exception" if the broker is related.

Laguna Altura celebrates one year anniversary

Am I the only one who dislikes Quail Hill? I feel like that place should have a negative premium due to the 405 proximity, lack of accessibility to the coast (unless Uncle Bill in Shady gives you a remote) and cramped quarters.

rkp - This link should help you out with regards to Indie/IHS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29 I will take the bait though and call BS on IHS having money. He can only live in Santa Ana, had to take a bailout AND he was unable to get his daughter into whatever school he...

Trojan's return to home ownership in Irvine

Having all of the same color cookware? Excellent way to show off to people you do not cook and/or most likely got the set as a wedding gift. Part of the fun of Le Creuset is buying the different colors. We should have a Talk Irvine chili cook-off.

    Low inventory?

Banks are actively selling off their distressed portfolios. BofA is beyond toxic. No one wants to deal with them anymore in the OTC space.

    The new Irvine high school

College Park has a really nice park. We go there on weekends sometimes with the kids. We looked a few homes there and I can say the neighborhood has not aged well.

24 Hour Fitness Lakeshore Towers - Men's Locker Room Break In

Make sure everything of value is out of site in your car (trunk/glove box) BEFORE you get to the gym. Also, keep your car clean. If there is nothing visible floating around the inside of your car, you are less likely to be chosen for a required window replacement.

    3-Car Garage Homes

qwerty - I disagree with regards to the gas amounts. It all depends on where you work vs where you live. For example, we currently live near the 5 and I commute to a place west of the 405 on Jamboree. My commute is about 18 minutes in the morning (I leave for work early) but about 35 minutes...

IHO - one thing about that home was that it backed to a major road AND there is no local Pool/Park. The school was within walking distance though.
