What you're describing is called White Flight, or sometimes called minority phobia (haha.) Keep in mind that the grand opening was 90% Asians not because there's that many Asians around, but because Whites decided to stay home. Ultimately diversity strengthens a community, so I would encourage...

I think the sales office may open a week before Mar 19. However from what I understand, you'll need to be already pre approved and on their priority list to be able to talk to the sales office before Mar 19. I am a potential buyer, not a realtor.

    I heard March 19.

Ouch, low blow. At least you didn't mention self lighting toxic dirt.

You mean back to 2011 prices? Can't help you (or myself) with that one! Perhaps one comforting thought would be back in 2011 interest rates were around 4.5% instead of 3.6% now. For the poor, non-FCB types like myself, it makes a difference. Not sure what the HOA fees are at San Mateo? That may...

Petaluma brings most value because it is detached (unlike Vista Scena which is similarly priced), The HOA is around 200 less than Vista Scena or Helena (attached condo), It has a wall separating the properties (not like Marin, or Corte Bella which are zero lot lines), It has a decent backyard...

I will look to buy Petaluma. It brings the most value when weighed against the price. Tell me if you're able to snag a home!  ;) It's the right time to strike because it is never the right time to strike. The future is unpredictable, all we can do is gauge our needs against the risks and feel...

Eastwood will be less dense since it does not have any apartment complexes like SG, CV, or OH. What also won me over was that the entire community is surrounded by trails (Hicks Canyon up North, Jeffery Trails to the East, and Paseo to the West) all of which are accessible without crossing major...

Yes, it looks like even with the risks to the economy now is the time to strike. As soon as I get a chance to strike that is....how long is the priority list now?!  :o

I have to admit, I wasn't a fan before the grand opening, but I've changed my mind. Eastwood has the potential to be one of the best communities in Irvine.

Wow, I stopped by Eastwood tonight and was completely blown away by the parks at night. Take a look.

Eastwood vs SG vs Woodbury vs PS

I think it's obvious Eastwood will be the most coveted because of its nice location, it's not on toxic land, it has its own elementary school, the community is sized well, it is surrounded by hiking/biking trails, zoing for Northwood High, and very importantly it has less tax than GP.

I have to admit, that is right. PS will always be out in the boonies. The value play doesn't make sense. Sure it's cheaper to buy, but it also means lower value when you sell.

When I visited Jasmine, the phases were not all selling as soon it came on market. Also looks like what took OH to sell in 3 years took only 3 days for EW. Given how fast these homes are going it's probably safe to say homes will continue to appreciate.

From what I understand, phase 3 just came out Friday. Seems Petaluma is selling faster than Jasmine?

Phase 3 all sold/reserved except one house!! Holy smokes! That was quick.

Keep in mind power/radiating levels from a phone set is significantly less than from a cell tower. It's like arguing that living next to your 110v outlet is the same as high power lines. Doesn't make sense.

Phase 1 and 2 are sold out! Anyone know when Phase 3 will come out?
