Frugality is the hot new trend

I am planning to cancel my Cable. The other day cox went down for a half an hour and I realized how peaceful and quiet it can be without Cable TV. I might just go with bunny ears for awhile. I also scaled back driving unecessarily to places I don't need to go. In being frugal as well as...

Any Restaurant Business Owners in Irvine?

Just curious if anyone on here owns any businesses in Irvine, particularly a food place. A business partner and myself are thinking/planning a joint restaurant business in Irvine, targeting an area near UCI. I obviously have not done the major research as of yet and wanted to know some...

    IAC Raising Lease Break Fee

This is where you pay someone X dollar amount to take over your lease (maybe $1500 to $2500). It's better than paying $5000 to IAC. Craigslist will be your best friend.

Better broadband options for Irvine? Fios maybe?

Slightly off topic... What do you pay per month for Cox?

They just increased my cable $1. It's only a dollar but why don't they tell us this? I just checked my bill and it was a dollar more than usual. I was thinking of calling them.

What would you buy? Condo in Irvine or house in Lake Forest?

They do sell them at staples... and it says "That was easy" when you push it.

    Columbus Grove - Buyer Beware

I would make flyers for the neighborhood warning them about the rules and the new rules to come. I know it's not your job to do it, but maybe it would help rally up some support.

Or start a small community web forum for people to publically post why their car was towed and what...

What are some small businesses you frequent?

My dog hates baths and dryers... but thanks for the heads up. I didn't know it was only $10.

IAC Renters. Check the prices before you renew your Lease.

jcaraway just said it a bit more bluntly, but remember, you bltserv fed him especially with your comment about the free rug cleaning.

All in all, yes you got a good deal, but negotiating had nothing to do with it. If I could save 2500 for the year, heck, I would move also. Like you...

    Renters: Wimbledon Glen/Arnel Properties Robbery

@CalGal: That show is great. I can't help feel bad when the burglar is just making a mess of their home and grabbing valuables/collectibles that are on display. They're on display for a reason and this guy just throws it into his bag.... that would piss me off even though it wasn really...

IAC Renters. Check the prices before you renew your Lease.

@bltserv: Negotiating for a lower rent when you're moving to another location is usually easy. I think for most people trying to negotiate, they are trying to STAY in the same apartment, not necesarily the same complex.

If you were to try to negotiate your CURRENT rent, in your...

    Moving Company

Yeah, like patrolone is going to do something ::rolls eyes::. There's this car street parked with expired tags and a flat tire (not really a POS car, but decent) that has been ticketed and has been in the same spot for almost a month now. I am about to call Irvine PD to tow it.

I...

@bluemoon: True, but I already used my Public Storage $1 for the first month, lol... so I couldn't take advantage of that again. I should have gotten a friend.

Has anyone ever successfully disputed an error on their credit report?

Which credit card company was this? One time I paid late, yeah my fault, it was my first offense. I tried to plead with them saying I have made payments on time, and this was just an oversight. They wouldn't budge. I just told them to close my account, and they were like ... wait...

    Moving Company

pods.com

Load it yourself at your own pace, lock it... then they ship it OR hold it for a short time period of time. Then they deliver to your destination, you unload yourself at your own pace. In my opinion, it's better than renting a truck.
