Have any of your kids had ear tubes put in?

Yes the indications are recurrent infections but you put the tubes in prevent the complications of infection which is hearing loss, not treat the infection. Haven't seen that NEJM article but my experience with tubes is that in 20 years of health care I haven't seen any kids harmed by having...

Have any of your kids had ear tubes put in?

ipo.... if your ENT reccomends it then your kid needs them. We do this all the time. Your kid may do fine without the tubes but you risk hearing loss and associated develomental delays due to impaired hearing. Very minor procedure, nothing to sweat over.

socalgal.. I agree with you, but some posters here are showing UNWILLINGNESS to repay their loan and are looking for some sort of acceptance instead of INABLITITY. I'm all for BK if the situation warrents but if people can afford to pay some or all their loan they should.

The Next Bubble to burst - CA municipal employe salaries

bix, this thread is getting off topic. anyone can pontificate on what they think a job is truly worth and if the city/county is or isn't paying too much or that they wouldn't do that particular job... the problem now is that there is a huge disconnect between city/county revenues and...

Oh I'm so sorry, I hurt someone's feelings, bad me..... When I was in college in the 70's we still had an honor code and it wasn't OK to just flaunt the law. If your baseball broke the neighbors window you had to go over, apologize and pay to fix it. Now you gents think you should just...

The Next Bubble to burst - CA municipal employe salaries

skek No I don't support Curry's proposal, not because I think it's right or wrong, but that the job the politicians ran for involved negotiating contracts and by giving this back to the voters, the politicians find a convenient way to abdicate their responsibility. The politicians who...

The Next Bubble to burst - CA municipal employe salaries

Another comment to the bloggers. Repeatedly I see the comment "there is no amount of money you could pay me to take that job". This is just BS. CA has become populated by bunch of pansy wussies who expect to make money for nothing. Other states AZ, TX, NM have no problem finding people...

EvaLSeraphim >>> "you must go nuts over federal judges' pensions" There is an important difference here, that is the FEDs can print money, so it doesn't matter how much they promise, they can always print more. CA municipalities don't have access to the printing press. The...

The Next Bubble to burst - CA municipal employe salaries

FreedomCM.... whatever that means.... I suppose you think you are right that oh, cities have to pay more... But CA cities don't control their revenue. (Think prop 13) Remember when a private company hires employees, they know what their revenue is, factor in a profit margin then...

The Next Bubble to burst - CA municipal employe salaries

As this is a bubble blog, I thought I would start a discussion on the next bubble to burst, that being CA municipal employee pay scales. As readers here know, the first bubble was the tech bubble, the bursting of which lead Greenspan to lower interest rates which lead to the start of the real...

ipop... You have pleanty of data, I would suggest throwing out the high and low when calcuating the CS mean index for the month as isolated outliers can skew an index and not give you a true picture of the market.
