    Earthquake Gas Shutoff Valve

It costs $300-$350 to have it installed but since your unit is attached I doubt you can add this feature after you close.  Honestly I don't see much value to add them for an attached condo.  If the gas pipe break the whole building is probably not going to survive.  The builder should put it...

How low can we go? 30 yr fixed at 3.75% with no fees...

AND $1,500 towards closing cost.  Damn.  I completely forgot about NFCU until yesterday when I was cleaning up the paperwork and found a statement.  We just refinanced two months ago.  >:(

Quick Local Getaways Suggestions with a Little One

Taking a cruise is a good option too.  No need to pack and unpack, you get to see several destinations, customize itineraries (sightseeing, meal times, etc) around the baby's nap time.  The short trips from Long Beach are pretty cheap especially considering food and entertainment are already...

    Irvine real estate general question

Interesting.  When my buddy applied at Irvine Police Department the interviewer asked if Irvine had more residential or jobs/employment/commercial.  He didn't know.  Anybody knows?

    Circus Vargas

We went a couple of years ago.  It was OK, nothing like Cirque du Soleil but pretty entertaining for the value.  The tent was a bit warm so dress lightly.  Go early if you have little kids.  They taught the kids something like spinning a ball on a stick during pre-show.  My kid got bored...

    Hidden Canyon in Irvine

I wouldn't want them anywhere near my house due to all the traffic.  Our mailboxes are located on a common side wall near the entrance of the community.  I feel bad for the people who live across from these boxes because you can see tire marks on the driveway/sidewalk from all the U-turns.

The listing was for $4,800/m.  I forgot what the exact address was but I looked it up when we were in Strada visiting our friends.

We have Sunpower purchased through the builder.  So far so good.  My friend used ABC Solar and she's happy with the result.

Orchard Hills - Strada by Irvine Pacific

But isn't AA comment part of the unwritten rules in TI?  I can think of some: 1.  Thou shall live in Irvine and Irvine only.  Do not live elsewhere if you don?t want to be called poor. 2.  Thou shall say that MY neighborhood/village/community is the best.  All others are idiots for buying other...

Selling a home...big realtor or Redfin

Our property manager pocketed easy 2% commission when our tenants bought  the rental home.  The PM/agent had the nerve to try to charge additional $400 for third party document coordinator at the end of escrow, which I politely refused to pay.  I don't know if 2% was too much considering there...

    Kobe Buffet

There was fried (crunchy) sushi but since they put raw fish on the top I didn't try.  They look pretty good and fresh though.  One tray even has the sushi with the fish still in original shape minus the head and tail.

    Kobe Buffet

We went for lunch today.  The place was 1/2 full (1/3 if you count the back section, which was not opened).  Staff were friendly, service was prompt, and food selection was good.  They had a pretty cool udon/mongolian/fresh steak station at the center.  Unfortunately all the food was just...
