Potential RE Shills on these Forums

I think there are some people on this forum that are somewhat in the middle and are researching it. So...to that extent, I think it's informative for those of us who did buy and who do believe prices will continue to go up as the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer in OC and other places...

    Irvine vs Tustin Schools??

I respect your opinions - some of my best friends and family share your thoughts. But what IF you're wrong? Wouldn't it be worse to not be able to get back in (at the location you wanted?). Whereas, if you can afford your dream place (or almost dream place) now, worst case scenario is that you...

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

Yes, the property tax makes me a little sick, but I figure it's tax deductible which means I can put at least 1/3 of it back in my pocket. The other amazing this is that interest rates are still at a record low - we qualify for a 30 year fixed (I won't consider anything but a 30 year fixed)...

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

Nope - I am 100% positive that at least in Astoria (Columbus Square in Tustin), there is only 1 layer of HOA. We're almost in contract there.

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

Oh, and also, there is only a single layer of HOA - I think some places have 2 layers...

I'm not trying to plug VoC, just want to share what I know for those in the market like me.

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

Yes, I can definitely understand the concern with property taxes - it's a shock. But a lot of people don't clearly understand taxes and Mello Roos (including me) so, I asked the hubby and he clarified for me that the 1.8% property tax INCLUDES the Mello Roos and as for Astoria - which is what...

    IRVINITEEE is a Lennar Employee

As for Lennar homes, I truly do not understand the "everything's included" concept. The most fun in buying a new home is picking out the upgrades. While I like Lyon better in other respects, that was a deal breaker for me.

    Resale homes vs new homes

My hubby and I looked at a lot of resales in Laguna Niguel - and at every single one, I thought....gotta rip out that carpet, gotta redo those cabinets, gotta repaint that bedroom, etc. After buying new once, it's really hard to buy a resale...especially if you're not into doing renovations -...

Is there any way prices can appreciate from here?

Crucialtaunt - I can't see your picture!

In my humble opinion, I think this is a dip and home prices will go up because...

My hubby and I are both lawyers with no kids (for at least 2 more years) and have virtually no debt (we flipped the condo we bought in 03 in 06) and...

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

IRVINITEE - hi, when you say nicer, do you mean the neighborhood itself? or the area, or the homes? I'm just curious because we are seriously considering buying a unit in the Astoria development. We were pretty much set on buying the Taylor Woodrow Las Colinas, but realized we could upgrade...

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

I really appreciate your comment. That is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. I know absolutely ZERO about Tustin. I went to college at UCI and since then only lived in Newport and Irvine and only went to Tustin to go the market place. Schools are extremely important to me...

What about Columbus Square in Tustin ??

Hi everyone, this is my first post. Everyone's comments are very informative. There hasn't been too much discussion about Columbus Square in Tustin (at the MCAS redevelopment). I think that portion of Tustin is pretty much considered Irvine...Anyway, this past summer, I compared Portola...
