I just called IUSD to ask about this situation. The only answer the woman I spoke with kept giving is: "It's too soon to know anything. Call back this time next year." That's helpful. Will just stew in our worry juices for the next year.

I wonder if that's the only option. The tank I bought (from Costco) has a gauge built into it so I can see the level of propane remaining. I doubt I'd be swapping it for something similar. : \
