    New Owner Problems

I wondered that as well and figured perhaps they'd have to buy it in bulk and there's a possibility there would be insufficient demand. Maybe? Been poking around curious about possibly even having soundproof insulation foam added by a contractor. Haven't gotten any estimates yet, but have...

    New Owner Problems

The day before they were supposed to come out we canceled based on input we got from folks here on Talk Irvine stating that they've seen their insulation and know that floor/ceiling insulation just isn't as soundproof as the wall insulation.

    New Owner Problems

Still here. : ) I guess everything was resolved the best it could be. I should feel lucky (and I do) because I've heard much worse horror stories from other neighbors in the community, like where the builder had to come out and rip open the upstairs floor and wall to fix a problem.

    Trick-or-Treat Locations

We only went down the one little street in Woodbridge. The streets were not blocked off and there were thousands of people walking around, which was fun and exciting. We stayed for maybe 20 minutes because it was already dark and we wanted to rush home so we wouldn't miss trick-or-treaters...

    Trick-or-Treat Locations

Ah, you said they were decorating last weekend. I guess that's when they start? Can you give me an exact location where you're talking about so I can be sure I'm looking in the same place? This is where I'm talking about:http://goo.gl/maps/nvSWY Thanks!

    Trick-or-Treat Locations

Really? When did that start? I have been going through there every week for the past few weeks. Our last trip through was last Friday, and there was exactly one house with a bunch of lights (on the first street with the cul-de-sac), and there were 2 or 3 others through the rest of the...

    Trick-or-Treat Locations

Happy Halloween everyone! This will be the first year my oldest son is old enough to actually have fun trick-or-treating, so we want to be sure to take him around fun neighborhood. We live in Saratoga in Stonegate, but thus far it seems we are in for trouble if we expect to just stick with our...

    Buggy Buttons: Double Up-Arrows

Ah, I wasn't paying attention. I see you're using the two backgrounds as the left and right edges of the button and you've updated that sprite. Yes, it's good now that the cached sprite has been flushed. Thanks!

    Shutters

This is a very valid matter of opinion, and we feel the same way. It's just the fact that we were effectively forced into buying drapes (and at a very large expense) that's disturbing. We are happy with them, but we really should have had the choice of shutters available. :-\

    Buggy Buttons: Double Up-Arrows

I see that the bulletin board was updated some time recently. There's a bug in the latest stylesheet that's causing two up-arrows to appear over buttons. The cause of this problem is that the <a> tag has the arrow as a background-image per this selector: .buttonlist ul li a.active but its...

Sprinkler system setup and lessons learned

Yes, one big, big thing we've learned too late is that we needed more sprinklers. When they were first installed, it looked like they were covering everything just fine. Now that our baby plants have started growing larger and fuller, some plants are blocking the spray of sprinklers, so we have...

    Shutters

We were told by Daniel at Shutters King that our very large window frames (at Saratoga there are two ~10' wide window frames containing 3 windows) could not have shutters because they were too wide. We've since seen two of our new neighbors have shutters installed in the same exact location. I...

    Labor Day Deals ...

We have a full-sized one (about 32 cu ft IIRC), but fortunately the configuration of our home (Saratoga plan 2) has the fridge on a wall all by itself, so there's no counter from which it is protruding. It has LED lights and they're awesome. The brightness is great because there are so many of...

    COX v. UVERSE

Definitely way expensive and only worth buying if you must. I put it up inside the attic, so it's completely out of sight and out of mind. Interestingly, I first put it up hanging on a 2x4 at a 45 degree angle and the picture quality was still very poor. I was able to pull it up a few inches...

    COX v. UVERSE

Hey, McFly, those antennas don't work on water. You need power. This is the antenna I had to get to receive all channels with perfect quality, most importantly the much-sought-after local Vietnamese channels:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BRXW74/

    Stonegate Elementary Waiting List?

I recently learned there are a lot of investment groups in China where they pool all their money and buy up lots of US homes with shared ownership and just let overseas strangers (here) deal with buying and managing their homes. I mean it seems obvious and makes sense, but before hearing about...
