That's interesting. I wonder why this effect is so much more noticeable in a paper like the OC Register vs. a Washington Post or even LA Times. Did it just have less far to fall? Was the Register ever a "real" paper? It reminds me of a high school paper - only it comes out more often.

The online comments are brutal but that is par for the course on the Register site. If they didn't creep me out I'd feel sorrier for them.
