    Cemetery district in Irvine?

It sounds like Lennar backed down from the agreement with Forest Lawn, but who knows what will happen. http://www.ocregister.com/news/lennar-266305-lawn-forest.html http://articles.latimes.com/2008/sep/13/local/me-cemetery13

Is it just me or are the Woodbury resales overpriced?

Anyone who was around here in October 1993 knows that Laguna Beach (east of PCH) and Turtle Rock almost burned to the ground.  Back then there was no Crystal Cove, Newport Coast,  Turtle Ridge, Shady Canyon, UCI housing off of Culver, Quail Hill, those apartments near Bonita Canyon/Shady Canyon...

    Irvine Trailer Parks

Uh Oh.  I've been had.  I better tell that big nosed vice-principal that it didn't matter that I attended the best public high school in the state of California.  It made no difference. (for the record I didn't have any classes with the people from the "base".  I guess it's all up to the...

    Irvine Trailer Parks

I don't know why I get upset when someone mentions trailer parks in Irvine.  I guess I have lived here so long that when I think of trailer parks, I think of UCI student housinghttp://disorientuci.pbworks.com/Irvine-Meadows-West-trailer-park and places where grandma could afford to live.  It...

Katy Perry too hot for Elmo

I'm not a fan of Katy Perry and I don't have kids, but I really liked that video.  I've been humming it all day.

Is it just me or are the Woodbury resales overpriced?

Really?  Are you saying that those 55+ year-old-grannies who live in the trailer park are now attending Greentree Elementary so they can get their GED?

Everyone(meaning the sheeple) probably drove up to 5-guys in Orange after reading the latest hamburger ratings.

Why it?s difficult to develop meaningful relationships in Irvine

I read the responses to your post on the other website.  I agree with most everything that was said there - that what you are criticizing is endemic to most of Southern California.  I still can't get over how you lament how 40% of people in Irvine don't speak english as well as "Irvine is too...

Why it?s difficult to develop meaningful relationships in Irvine

? really?  Where in Irvine do you hang out?  I may be sheltered, but I can probably count the number of people who don't speak english I've encountered in Irvine on hand and those were people over 70.

    9 months later...

I was never a huge housing bear, but I was surprised to see the houses in Woodbury sell so quickly.  I don't like the feel of that neighborhood at all because it everything seems too close together and the house/lot size ratio is ridiculous.  However, I recently visited the new Riverbend...

Children's Museum in Irvine Hangs "Swastika" in Exhibit

I can't really say unless I see for myself how it's presented. Should the Louvre take this out of the museum?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Etruscan_pendant_with_swastika_symbols_Bolsena_Italy_700_BCE_to_650_BCE.jpg

    Gated communities in Irvine

http://www.irvinehousingblog.com/forums/viewthread/2010/#47553 There are also a couple in Turtle Rock but I don't know what they're called.  One is off of ridgeline that overlooks Strawberry Farms and the other is off of Turtle Rock Drive towards the top of the hill.

Which Irvine Community would you want to retire in?

I forgot to add that Woodbridge has lots of one-story homes and none of those ridiculous 3-story towers in some of the newer 1-bedroom developements. If I were looking for a home that I could live in when I was old it would have the following: 1.  Mobility within my own home (meaning no...

Which Irvine Community would you want to retire in?

also if I were to retire I would want to be near a place where I could rely on a bus or a tram or a subway to get me other places providing that I were in a condition that I would be able to move about on my own.

Which Irvine Community would you want to retire in?

Woodbridge.  It's near the senior center.  You can walk to a supermarket or just around the lake.  There are also a lot of other older people there.

Since The Groves is a 55+ RESIDENT OWNED Mobile Home Community, I don't think you have to worry about grandma bringing down the test scores of your child's school.

Uh oh, TIC...we may have a problem

Santa Cruz?  That's practically Watsonville.  Who wants to live there when you could say that you live in Carmel. (disclaimer:  I know nothing about the different Woodbury tracts.  I only show up on opening day for the free hot dogs and hamburgers).

Hopefully once people are moved in, they will use their garage for their car and get rid of any excess junk they don't need.  Packed garages should be reserved for homeowners in their 50s or 60s who are storing a lifetime of memories, not for excess Pottery Barn, Ikea, Pier One and Restoration...

Observations from the front lines of the Irvine housing market?

I miss the daily updates people posted from foreclosure radar with all of the blue and red dots and comments like this one:  http://www.irvinehousingblog.com/forums/viewthread/4876/P25/#103491.  It made me feel that Irvine had a chance of returning to normal.

    So, where are we headed?

I am kind of confused.  Why would someone who cannot afford a cookie-cutter home in Irvine be wasting money on a LV bag?  It seems the priorities are a little screwed-up.  Maybe that's the real reason why living in Los Angeles county seems so much more attractive.
