I have been to Carlsbad a couple of times- it just didn't do anything for me, even with the cheaper homes.  Besides, if I were to go the the "city", I'd rather go to LA than San Diego. It seems the area also lacks job diversity, which is especially important for 2-couple professionals. 

I agree with Lucy. I have 2 kids- one I co-slept with and the other not.  I cherish those memories when I co-slept with my baby.  My baby (and me!) slept much better.  They do grow older!

OKKid- Try baking soda!  I had water stains on my choc brown tops (cambria- same as cesearstone or silestone).  I think the water there must be very hard- lots of calcification.  Anyways, I put a baking soda paste around the area and it soaked up the waterstain.

One thing I can't stand- when two-story homes have a nook for a dining room instead of a proper dining room with 4 walls.  For example, when one wall of the "dining room" is the staircase leading to the second floor.  I see this in homes with large sq footage too (3400 sq feet), not just smaller...
