I'm not familiar with freemyapps.com, but GetJar seems legit and offers free and paid Android apps for free.  I believe the way it works is that they pay the app owners per install and get revenue from sponsors.  Only concern is the concern I had earlier, which are app updates.

I'd love to hitup a movie with the wife.  The only times we ever do are when we visit in-laws and stay for a few days or when my mom comes to visit/stay over.  Then after the kids are in bed, we disappear.  That happens maybe once a year that we're able to catch a movie.
