    Future Tech

Until smartphones become much much more powerful, this won't be in the near future for PCs.  Google tried it with their Chromebook and it didn't really take off.  Netbooks didn't replace PCs.  Years ago, there was talk that thin clients would replace PCs in the workplace and that didn't happen. ...

Mobile Nations - Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, WebOS, etc...

Different versions of Android with various hardware skins on top (launchers) probably makes life that much more difficult for app developers.  I would think it makes it harder to develop their app so it runs on all hardware.  Don't get me wrong, I like Android and my next tablet will be an...

Mobile Nations - Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, WebOS, etc...

Wonder if it's true.  If so, IHO, you were right.  But still doesn't make sense to me.  Hardware vendors haven't even rolled out ICS in full force and a new OS is coming out?  Way to fragment Android even more.

2012: Year of the [insert tablet here]?!?

I am hoping that they work out the various versions and get most people on the same stable version.

    ASUS Transformer Prime

From the various discussion threads about the TP, it's a hit or miss if your device has decent wifi connectivity.  And there's been discussion that a slight bump (like a minor accidental drop from a chair) shifted something (pogo antennae connection) that has resulted in better RF signals.  Yes...

    Movies I Love....

I love Kung Fu Hustle.  Shaolin Soccer was good too.  Steve Chow movies are great.  Ong Bak was good too.  I've got to think that some of those actors got hurt during the fighting scenes.  Saw IP Man also and enjoyed it.  An oldie that I liked was Iron Moneky.  Haven't watched anything in a long...

    ASUS Transformer Prime

I'm with you there, RC, on the whole missing out on having a tablet.  I'm very anxiously waiting for the upcoming Android tablets to get released.  I'm about to pickup the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 to hold me over until the new models come out, then return it before the 90 days. The Transformer...

2012: Year of the [insert tablet here]?!?

It just seems that Google is coming out with incremental updates for ICS, like 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3, etc.  They're releasing them to resolve issues.  I've got to think that they're working hard to resolve these issues as most devices aren't even on ICS at all yet.  If they are also developing a...

Those NFC/RFID chips look interesting.  That Scalado Remove software looks great.  I wonder if you can use that on images taken with DSLR cameras.

I installed and configured the native Netgear Remote app for the iPad.  It works fine... for copying files between the NAS and iPad.  I was hoping to stream.  So I found FileBrowser for $5.  It works really well and does everything I need it to.  I've set it up to connect to the NAS (can stream...

Have you played Kingdom Rush?  How is it compared to that?  I've been wasting my free time playing this game.  I also played Jelly Defense on my Android phone before it started being too much for my phone and had huge lag.  I'll play Jelly Defense again whenever I get a new Android tablet...

    Movies I Love....

Do you guys watch these movies off Netflix?  Admittedly, we don't have enough time to watch TV/movies.  The DirecTV DVR gets filled from time to time and we have to clean recordings out.  But I like Donnie and Jet movies.

2012: Year of the [insert tablet here]?!?

A higher res screen will be nice, but what will take advantage of that?  Will there be higher resolution streaming video for it?  Will games be redone for the higher resolution capabilities?  Will other apps be recoded to use the higher spec screen?  Also, how will that affect battery life? ...

2012: Year of the [insert tablet here]?!?

I am curious about the iPad 3.  While I'm sure it'll do well, I still want to get an Android tablet for myself.  At least when the newer models get released in the next few months.  I'm just more partial to the flexibility and configurability of the Android environment.  I actually got the wife...

I have the Netgear ReadyNAS DUO (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MVIH24/ref=twister_dp_update?ie=UTF8&psc=1).  It's a two bay NAS.  Got the diskless version and threw in two 1.5TB drives.  They're mirrored.  Got it a few years ago, but it serves it's purpose.  My wife does photography so...

Some tablet/cell phone games look beautiful (like FPS games or fighting games), but I don't see myself trying to play them if I don't have some type of physical controller/joystick for it. RC - yeah, those old school controllers only have two buttons.  Kids these days have like 6 or more or use...

Question for gamers on tablets, do you use a bluetooth joystick or use the onscreen controls when playing games?  I've tried the onscreen "joysticks" and can't get used to it. ps99472 - On your idevice, how do you get games/apps that aren't on iTunes?  Do you have to jailbreak it to allow...

    Auto Correct-ness...

Yeah, I've read some funny ones.  Some of the txts I get from the wife is not fully correct sometimes.  I always tell her to use the voice to txt feature.  Works pretty well, except no punctuation or capitalizations.

Mobile Nations - Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, WebOS, etc...

Wow, no way would I drive and watch a movie.  Listening to NPR or something else is one thing where I can engage but keep my eyes on the road, but having to keep my eyes on a movie and the road... nope.

Broadcom moving to Tustin - better buy at columbus square before prices go up

If they actually do move the whole site to CS, that's going to add a lot more traffic.
