The Backyard: Pergola, Covered Trellis, or sunshade ideas

Ah yes, Jonah for me I think this is the best option so far. I still would prefer a "hardtop convertible" over this soft top, something with hard panels that slide, but it's nice that this cloth version is all one piece. I have some experience with outdoor drapes and blinds and one downside is...

The Backyard: Pergola, Covered Trellis, or sunshade ideas

Nosuch, Yes it's very cool but if I can get something that is more solid I'd prefer it. It seems like rain will still leak through the cracks of the shutters even when it's closed, water dripping onto your patio furniture etc. I'd like to find something more enclosed and solid... yet still...

Also now that I'm thinking about it, for me I would actually prefer a more solid cover (yet still retractable?) vs thin strips of cloth with gaps.

Yes, it's one of the models. Are you saying they are potentially representing something that's not possible? lol

Here's the photo of Piedmont's sunshade. I'd like to have something that's more covered than this, but the size and proximity to the wall is interesting. Also, the structure is not connected to the house at all which is nice.

The Backyard: Pergola, Covered Trellis, or sunshade ideas

Thanks Gasman. Yes, something like this would really make the backyard very usable. Some gym equipment, patio chairs or a hammock, you could even roll out a ping pong table from time to time. I talked to the HOA and something like this is permitted, as far as the extent of it I'm not sure. I...

The Backyard: Pergola, Covered Trellis, or sunshade ideas

Hey guys, I'd like to create more covered outdoor space in my backyard. I'm starting to poke around and collect ideas for what's possible. Has anyone done anything like this? I'm wondering about things like size limits, distance from the walls, motorized shade covers etc. I have 25.5 feet...

    Petaluma at Eastwood

Yes, on paper petaluma is a detached condo... but to be fair, soyi did say "single family homes" in quotations which could imply a different meaning. I also find it interesting that on the main petaluma signage in Eastwood it's clearly advertised as "single family homes" and in the petaluma...

For those moving up and buying bigger - will you rent out your current place?

Does anyone have a nice grandma that would like to move in? :)

I wouldn't be surprised if 50% of my units are rented out at this point. I know my surrounding neighbors, single adults seem to like renting them as well.
