The supply of new entrants in my profession is very low probably for the very reasons you bring up. I would estimate that for every 20 professionals ready to retire there is one young entrant to assume their job.

That sounds like a really good option as child care can take a huge chunk of your paycheck. I'm surprised you couldn't find anyone in Irvine on that Nanny Share site. I would think more families would want to split the costs. I would recommend placing a small ad in a Church bulletin.

I'm not looking for a nanny but I'm curious what a nanny share is? Does that mean you hire a nanny to watch your kids and someone elses kids and split the costs? or do you spilt the days?

What I don't understand is if you have $800,000 cash, why not pony up a few bills to hire someone to show you how to buy your Irvine dream house for $200,000 less at auction????
