    Omg! 0.30 kW/hour!!

Our idle average is around 0.20-0.25 kWh. This is when no one is home. So the only thing running would be the refrigerator, NAS and phantom load.

    Nest Thermostat

We had a Roomba, and gave it up. It couldn hardly do one room before the brushes needed to be cleaned, the dirt canister needed to be emptied. For the amount of time I was spending maintaining it, I could have easily pulled out a vacuum cleaner and vacuumed the whole room.

    Art Classes

Our kid used to go to Da Vinci Studio on the corner of Trabuco and Yale for 2 hours/week. The fees were $150/month. The group size is small, and the teacher was in the know about what art related projects happening at the school (for eg. Yearbook covers, Tshirt design contests) so she would...

    A good water softener company??

We had a similar situation. The main line came in infront of the living room, and the water softener was going to sit in the garage. The plumber routed put in a line to go to/from the garage.

    A good water softener company??

It's much cheaper to install it through a plumber. Culligan, Rayne, etc markup the materials significantly. With a plumber you can buy the water softener yourself and cut down the materials cost.

    A good water softener company??

Muzilla Plumbing (Steve Muzilla) installed our water softener. He purchased the water softener for us as well. I am very happy with the results. The downside of having a plumber install the water softener is that you are responsible for all maintenance/trouble shooting. With companies such as...

    Shuttle Services to LAX

I usedhttp://shuttletolax.com/once. Their prices were cheaper than Super/Prime Time. I was happy with their service. I believe they don't actually run the shuttle themselves, they contract it out to other companies.

    Would you want to know?

My thoughts exactly. Next time you are in a similar situation with the teacher you could act disinterested, change the topic, do something to let the teacher know that you are not a willing participant in the conversation.

    Indian Food.

Laxmi Sweets & Spices has the best value for your money, if you don't mind the folding tables and Styrofoam cups. They serve buffer for $7.99 and you get both South/North Indian food. I haven't seen any place offer as many options for buffet as Laxmi. Their Samosas are the best I have had in the...

    Garage Epoxy

We had epoxy in our garage done using the kit Home Depot sells. As someone mentioned earlier, it doesn't come out looking as nice as the professional kit. The epoxy layer is very thin, and it started wearing off in the areas where the car tires were rubbing against the floor.

    Garage Epoxy

The painter who was doing some interior painting also did the epoxy. He charged $450 for the labor for a 3 car garage. I bought the material.
