I bought a Nook Simple Touch. It rocks!

Just a follow up, I returned the Nook within the two week return period because I saw the announcement of the Nook Simple Touch with the Glowlight.  I picked it up a few weeks ago just before I went on vacation.  The light is a great addition when you're in an area with poor lighting.  Awesome...

I saw a sign on the door saying that a Fantastic Sam's would be opening there in the summer.

I saw this on the OC Register home page.  I don't recall seeing an earlier posting on it.  I hope it's not a duplicate. http://melia-homes.com/communities/

24 Hour Fitness Lakeshore Towers - Men's Locker Room Break In

That is pretty clever!  I spoke with the club manager about the break in.  He said they are looking at a few options for addressing this.    I've noticed a few more people carrying fanny pack types of bags.  I leave some things in my car...but car break ins have been an issue at gyms as...

24 Hour Fitness Lakeshore Towers - Men's Locker Room Break In

I'm really bummed about this.  I've been going to this gym for several years.  I've gotten to know a lot of the people there by sight.  I go there several times a week to wind down from work.    It's hard to believe someone would do this.

I bought a Nook Simple Touch. It rocks!

I finally decided to buy a Nook Simple Touch, the black & white, E-Ink version.  It really is just like reading on paper.  I took it down to Laguna Beach today and had no problems reading it in direct sunlight.  It is great to have the ability to carry so many books in such a lightweight...

24 Hour Fitness Lakeshore Towers - Men's Locker Room Break In

Hello, I stopped by 24 Hour Fitness Lakeshore Towers around 3:30 today and saw a few police cars.  Someone broke into a locker and made off with someone's cash.  The police officers said this is becoming a larger problem in many cities.  I suggest taking only what you need to take to go into...

Anyone recommend a good Gastroenterologist around Irvine?

Not sure if you still need the info.  I had seen Dr. Won Yu near St. Joseph Hospital. http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Won_Yu

Great Cuts at Harvard & Main Shuttered

I grabbed a bagel this morning at Einstein's at Harvard & Main.  As I returned to my car I noticed a sign on the Great Cuts door saying that the store was closed.  I've been having my hair cut there for years.  When I was reading the sign, one of the stylists was outside in her car and came...

What is it with all these Asian banks?

I confess.  I am not Asian. I have wondered for a long time why there are so many Asian banks around.  It seems like all of the shopping plazas with a large Asian presence have several of these Asian banks.  Are the customers of these banks often people with a language preference?  Do they...

IAC Now Requiring Proof of Renter's Insurance

I was told when I stopped in the office for my IAC complex that I had to now provide evidence of Renter's Insurance.  I do have a policy but before I didn't have to prove it.  I was told they would not renew my lease without the proof of insurance. Has anyone else encountered this?

Sonicare Toothbrushes on sale at Costco 2/$79

I needed to replace my Sonicare toothbrush and noticed a 2/$99 package a few weeks ago at Costco.  I finally went there today and they had a $20 instant rebate.  I think it's good until December 15 (or something like that....).

    Michelson & Jamboree/New construction?

Hi, When one enters the shopping plaza at Michelson & Jamboree, there are some scenes depicting future stores, but no mention of names.  One of the scenes looks like a health club.  Anyone know what's going there? Thanks! El Gringo

    SFR - zero lot line

I had a zero lot line home in Aliso Viejo.  It was categorized on the books as a condo but it was detached.  Looking back, I don't think I would buy a zero lot line again.  It's a personal choice.  I don't like the idea of having to ask my neighbor for permission to enter their yard to do...

    Doria at Stonegate

I find this thread a bit troubling.  I am wondering if anyone on this board has friends or family members that are dealing with mental illness.  Perhaps we should hear from you.  The term "mental illness" covers a variety of conditions.  Yes, some mental illness may cause problems.  But...

    Shopping for a new Mattress

Hi! I am planning to buy a new mattress and am wondering if any of you have any recommendations.  I have no real preference on type (spring vs. foam vs. etc.).  I saw the older thread in this section from 2010 but thought someone might have a real recent experience they'd want to share. Thanks!

    Online Graduate Level Programs

I am wondering if any of you have experience with online graduate programs.  I recently completed an accounting class through the UCI online extension and enjoyed it but I am wondering what it would be like to do a full masters degree.  I travel a fair amount for my job so as much as I would...
