Thanks for the great feedback!  The concern that I have is the matter of living next to my own tenants.  I have heard mixed reviews about this, especially if one of the situations goes south. I appreciate the input!

I noticed that the Chinez Chinese restaurant at Alton & Culver (near T-Mobile) had closed.  I thought it was open just a few weeks ago.  I liked their food.  Bummer.

I think the Great Park may have been an overreaction to the matter of preventing a commercial airport at El Toro.

When I was at the plaza at Harvard & Main, I noticed that a new Pick Up Stix would be opening.  The sign said "Late 2012."  Hopefully that means "Soon!"

And although it's not in Irvine, there will be all the new development in the Tustin Legacy project just outside of Irvine's boundaries which will add to that same traffic level.

One of my friends is encouraging me to consider purchasing a multi-family property, say in Costa Mesa or Huntington Beach, living in one unit and renting the others out.  Have any of you by chance done this?  I'd be interested in hearing your experiences. Thanks!

What is it with the bars on the windows of the other home (44 Night Bloom) referenced in this blog entry?  Is that for security or decor?

Fair enough.  I can see why one would want a "clean" area for laundry.  I am wondering (and this is not directed to Arman alone) what folks prefer for the transition from the garage to the house.  One of my previous homes had the garage access door going into the kitchen.  But that brings up...

Back to the laundry room. :-)  Thanks for the clarification.  I guess it depends on how a family uses the laundry room which may depend on the ages and stages of kids, etc.  My parents were neat freaks.  Also, IIRC, the laundry room had a closet with folding doors that hid things like soap...

Hmmm....  In the home I grew up in we had a pass through laundry room.    Is the reason for it being a deal breaker that it isn't near the bedrooms or is there another reason?

Does anyone know what the new building is in Von Karman Plaza that is being built in front of the soon-to-be Walmart?  It looks like it could be a restaurant.  Not that it matters, but I was bummed when the Burger King closed.

I lived in Aliso for several years.  The 73 got to be very expensive very quickly.  Also, for whatever reason, left turn pockets are way too short for the traffic patterns.

I need to buy a DVD player.  I am not much of an audiophile (how disappointing, I know).  I asked my colleagues about it.  Many of them said just to get a basic model that can play BluRay discs while others said to buy a PlayStation.  I've never owned a gaming system (how disappointing, I know)...
