    Javier's

Believe they have a private room if you have enough people to book it, we've been in there multiple times for various bday parties or out of town family comes into town and want to try it, but both the patio and inside are loud and noisy. It's going to be crowded, doesn't matter if you're...

I'm not sure where you heard that there is a population decline, I know of 1 IUSD school that had a grandfather clause to finish up elementary school if you had another grade or 2 to go if you moved, they are getting rid of that since there are too many students.

They were next to a gas station, limited seating outside, normally got the ABC burger there.

That's a risk someone will need to take. Similar to getting a kid into college by "being in sports" but once the dominoes fell, it sucked for everyone involved. This would be to a lesser degree of a penalty, but I'm sure people don't advertise getting caught.

If Irvine catches you, you're kicked out of the district, if you move back to an Irvine address, you're blacklisted. How they enforce this or how true it is I don't know, but heard this from an admin who used to work in the Irvine school district so must be some truth to it It's more likely...

If they have that much cash send them to private and live in Newport/CDM, that would be me if I could afford it.

College Tuition CAP Rate / ROI University Cost Analysis by Panda

Does the Avg Ye in your chart mean average years to graduation, wouldn't that skew the #s assuming all 4 year average #s, your costs for 5 years and loans for 5 years would go up?

Some of my favorite tasty places to eat

Definitely give it a go, 18 seats only, must make reservations in advance, the $225 includes gratuity as well, believe they charge $25? more for Fri/Sat dinners. They normally do steak night 3-5 nights a month, they rotate and do other dinners throughout the month. I'm lucky, we get all our...

I'd rather got CDM/Newport and find an ocean view, it's cooler out there too for roughly the same price. Or I'd go to Turtle and do a tear down to a wall and rebuild for probably less than this. Not hating on PS, but at that price point there are better options IMO.

Some of my favorite tasty places to eat

I'm still a fan of Mastros, but I feel like it's been going downhill over the years, been going since 2004/2005. Been to The Ranch, and A, but the Ultimate Steak Dinner at Trust in DTSA is better that all the above. $225/person all you can drink wine, about 5/6 courses of various cuts of steak...

    Work in office or remote?

I haven't been in the office since Oct, when I hired someone new to the team. Was only in the office about 10-15x last year, most of it was for training the newbie. Our whole team works from home. 1 person does choose to go in 4 days a week, but he did that through covid and doesn't like to...

    ICE or EV?

Martin got his home owners insurance cancelled by Costco too...they are slowly pulling or phasing out is what my guess is. Hopefully I'm wrong, less insurance companies mean higher premiums for all and the market to get insurance is horrible right now.

    ICE or EV?

Costco is not insuring any new CA drivers, they may add Teslas though to an existing policy, so if you don't already have Costco car insurance buyer will be SOL.

The Meadows, Lake Forest by Toll Brothers

Is there good Chinese food in south county? There used to be a few more places, but the Fake Sam Woo on Walnut/Jeffrey closed as well as the Sam Woo BBQ in the 99 Ranch plaza on Culver. I head out to the 626 area for Cantonese food, since my parents are in the LA area.

I agree here, places close by for convenience and a few go to spots the kids like. We go out of Irvine for food a decent amount on weekends.

FCB has been here for 10+ years now? and some have been saying it's going away for the past few years and it hasn't happened, so we know Irvine has higher pricing b/c of them, I don't think anyone is disputing that fact and that there are a lot of cash buyers in Irvine (not solely FCB). I also...

The Meadows, Lake Forest by Toll Brothers

All you do is complain about Irvine, which is why I'm asking, you believe it's overpriced and overrated. If you don't like LF/Tustin, why are you in OC? Find a job else where and where you want to be? You remind me of those on car forums who hate a certain brand or model, but still on that...

The Meadows, Lake Forest by Toll Brothers

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but why are you on TalkIrvine if you hate this city? Do you spend time at Spectrum Los Olivos Whole Foods, or the Costco in Irvine, I assume you still spend a lot of time in Irvine even if it's overrated. You sound bitter that you're priced out since...
