Cox Internet preferred vs premier vs ultimate

Nice, will be a good plan until Google Fiber is available at $70 for 1,000 mbps.

    Anyone have Tmobile?

Clearly it's either not Verizon or I'm too far from it (Jasmine).

    Anyone have Tmobile?

I have Verizon is Cypress Village and the reception isn't good. Had to get a femtocell wifi extender. It works most of the time, but still drops calls. Was wondering about T-Mobile. I don't think the reception matters at home cause don't all their smartphones have wifi calling now?

    Google Fiber coming to Irvine

Well, you're supposed to have 25 mbps for each 4k stream. I have one 4K TV and two 4K monitors. Another 4K TV by end of year for the bedroom coming. Also everyone plays online video games and streams to iPads and laptops. But I'd say after say 100 to 150 mbps, the rest is just bragging rights...

    Google Fiber coming to Irvine

Well, U-Verse was supposed to be a competitor to Verizon FIOS but it pales in comparison. 20 mbps isn't even what the government considers "broadband!" I have Cox for Internet and DirecTV for TV now. Cox isn't that bad on price, I get around 120 mbps for $70 I think. Supposedly $99 for gigabit...

    Google Fiber coming to Irvine

Yeah, they will give you the theoretical maximum but it's not a good prediction. DSL and U-Verse are the worst in my experience. Cable and FIOS the best. I had many clients move forced to move from AT&T DSL to U-Verse and things actually got worse. So bad they couldn't even keep a reliable...

    Google Fiber coming to Irvine

In my experience you are lucky to get 20-25 mbps with U-Verse. It's distant dependent, I know many who are stuck at 5-6 mbps.

I heard the same from an Irvine Pacific employee last week. April 2016.

    Jasmine at Cypress Village

Stopped by office today, looks like they are winding down, final phases should be sold by end of the year. Here's an updated price sheet.

    Cox internet speeds

No I'd call them and have them run tests to your equipment. Could be a bad modem or router too. I'm sure you've tried power cycling those too right?

    Cox internet speeds

AT&T Uverse is slower, but probably cheaper. If you are used to Time Warner cable, Cox is a similar experience. I currently get over 100 mbps. They are supposed to offer gigabit by the end of the year for $99 a month. Google Fiber also announced they will be coming too, which is also gigabit...

    Google Fiber coming to Irvine

Ironically, I've been waiting for Cox to offer their gigabit for $99 a month. Numerous delays. Now I will most likely be getting Google Fiber instead, if it's available in my neighborhood, for $30 a month cheaper. Cox would have locked me in for 2 years. You snooze you lose, Cox!

Buying 900K SFR in Irvine - advice needed

I used to listen to him a lot on the radio. Mostly to make myself feel better about my own life and situation after hearing the callers. He's like Rich Dad, Poor Dad, good advice for the most part, don't agree with everything. Spending less (especially on cars), investing, etc are all people...
