Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

We were under contract before construction started and there was zero wiggle room to negotiate on any of this. We tried. One other thing they may not have told you, if you are seriously talking with them or getting on the interest list. If you want to use an agent or broker who represents you...

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

I can fill you in on those details. You don't actually get a choice for most of it. Upgrades that were included that we had no say in and could not pick: -Recessed lighting -Electric package that included a larger transformer so you could have an electric car -Stove and range hood, microwave...

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

Earlier phases of Carissa the Plan 1 was like $610, so if it's $590 now they either aren't including non-optional upgrades, or the prices have gone down. We also preferred Carissa to Brisa due to location which is why we bought there :)

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

Interesting, sounds like Brisa is coming in like $20k less on the same models as Carissa. I wonder if it's the proximity to the 241?

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

Yeah it's going to be quite awhile for another 1X at Carissa. I think they are only building 8 total including the model. They've sold 4 not including the model, and I don't think there's any in the next few phases. But, there's Plan 1s in every phase. The 1Xs at Carissa were like $680ish...

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

We have the 1X. We specifically wanted a ground floor bedroom because we have a lot of family visit us and we like the separation of that bedroom for the privacy factor.

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

This is a good perspective. I think it's points to the importance of figuring out priorities. For us, this is our first home and we're not in a position to have investment properties. When it comes time to move I think we will need to sell this house to have a down payment for the next. So...

Advice for couple shopping in the 525-600k price range? (Irvine/Tustin Ranch)

I see a lot of people on here advise against 3 level condos, but I think they are a good option. They work well as starter homes for younger people. At Carissa/Brisa the Plan 1 is a 2 bed/2 bath is technically 3 levels, but the first level is only the garage, so you're really living on two...

Orange County Great Park: Sports park, water park, ice rink, golf course

I don't think there are any parking lots near this, not sure about street parking. I think this is more like the Jeffrey Space Open Trail and is supposed to be a place for great park residents walking/biking. Also in general it feels like FivePoint did not put many mature trees into the areas...

Thanks eyephone. You are right - I think it was more qwerty's comment than yours that made me feel judged. I'm sorry if you felt like my frustration was totally directed at you. It's not, but I do feel like you are not actually reading my what I'm saying. I posted the following: My exact...

I will repeat: It's not a requirement or an expectation I have no expectation. I'm sorry but I can't help but feel frustrated because it feels like you are not actually reading what I am writing, but passing judgement/condemnation on something I did not say. I suppose that is the internet in...

    LinkedIn

My exact words were "we like to see" not "we require" or even "we expect". It's not a requirement or an expectation, just a bonus. We definitely consider people regardless of specifically if they liked us on LinkedIn. We look at the whole picture: resume, cover letter, other materials we ask...

    LinkedIn

We look at LinkedIn profiles for all the candidates we're considering at my job, especially entry level people. We like to see that they've "liked" us and similar companies - shows they are aware of the industry and have probably done some basic research. Sometimes also folks have stuff on there...

We moved in June 2018. We were offered an 11 month lease through May 2019. Our builder is California Pacific Homes.

    Cadence Park - Great Park

Right - I hear what you're saying. But, for someone like me who is a first time home buyer in their 20s, this really isn't feasible. It's going to take every cent I have for a down payment for a $700k budget. No $225k lying around for a reno or remodel, much less the extra budget for $775k...

    Cadence Park - Great Park

Wow - I feel really naive. It did not occur to me that sales people would pose on here as buyers. That actually sucks a lot.

I think that's reasonable given the lack of information and details I can find about the development.

    Short(ish) Term Lease?

Thanks all for your advice! Compressed village - you were correct they were willing to work with us and gave us a lease extension through the end of October for a small and reasonable monthly increase in rent. I am still a little outraged on principal that they charge so much for...

    Cadence Park - Great Park

Just curious - have you and your finance moved in yet? What have you heard about the warehouse 415 development? We are really intrigued by this but it doesn't seem like it's actually happening. We loved the muse plan 1! I agree with you completely that the three level condos are perfect...

    Great Park Retail

Have there been any updates on Warehouse 415 by Cadence Park? Everything I've seen has been about the "Base Camp" retail center that's  referenced in the posts above. But - nothing on the "food hall and community space" in Warehouse 415 since 2017ish.
