    Air Traffic around Columbus Square

I don't think the concerns for planes, trains, and toxins over in Columbus Square are that big of a deal. Some of on this blog may take them seriously, but the general public doesn't really care too much. As for me, I just think Columbus Square sucks because it's like an island of homes in the...

Villages of Columbus - Columbus Square - Camden Place

i think columbus square is trying to complete all the condos first... merriweather, camden, and cambridge lane. i think the place does not look as bad as it did before, but it's still definitely rather vacant looking.

Diamond District (??) off Jamboree and Alton

Yeah, I was surprised that there was no entrance or exit on Jamboree. But I think that was intentionally done. So far, I'm very impressed by what I see. For one thing, Tokyo Table is opened until midnight! Can't wait for more late night dining.

Villages of Columbus - Columbus Square - Camden Place

I have a friend who's closing escrow mid-November. She's buying a Plan 2. Maybe I can get her to join the blog so she can get to know some of her soon to be neighbors.

    Columbus Grove: why live there

I agree. Most people in this area are very well aware of how wealthy Tustin Ranch and North Tustin are. I think that people from outside of Orange County tend to migrate towards Irvine. For those of us who are already here, we are aware that Tustin is not a bad place. More importantly, there...

    Free Meal at Tokyo Table

Went there yesterday. Nice decor, friendly service. Reasonable price. Good food. Will definitely come back.

    Columbus Grove: why live there

I always enter the District from Warner so there has never been a problem with traffic. And yes, I do notice some traffic congestions in certain areas, but I think Vestar wants to create the perception of the place being busier than it is. Anyhow, the Diamond Jamboree Plaza is now opened. I'm...

    Columbus Grove: why live there

I guess I care more about the public schools than the neighborhoods. For instance, Villa Park is an elite neighborhood. But Villa Park High has a lot of students from the neighboring Orange area. So the high school is not so great. But then again, the school is not so bad either. I think I...

    Columbus Grove: why live there

Hey, I actually see a significant distinction between Columbus Square and Columbus Grove. 1. Columbus Square is in the middle of nowhere. There's absolutely nothing within walking distance. 2. CS is very undeveloped. There are way too many vacant lots. On the other hand, 1...

    Columbus Grove: why live there

I have no qualms about talking about different preferences among people and cultures. Students, as well as adults, talk about them all the time. There's nothing wrong with open discussions. I can clearly see why Whites (yes that's how normal people refer to Caucasians) prefer someplace like...

    Columbus Grove: why live there

Seriously though, if I am settled down with a family, I would prefer Woodbury over Columbus Grove. It has nicer homes, better landscaping, and more amenities. And being that homeowners are more likely to have a family, there should a price premium placed on Woodbury. But for anyone who...

    Columbus Grove: why live there

Harvard & Barranca versus Jeffrey & Trabuco. H&B is close to the airport and the adjacent business districts. It's close to Jamboree and all the new shops and developments (such as the Diamond Jamboree Plaza and the District). It's next to the well established neighborhoods of Westpark...

    Columbus Grove: why live there

Other than real estate being overpriced in general, I would like to live at Columbus Grove because: 1. It's centrally located. Whether it's in Tustin or Irvine is a non-issue. 2. New homes are cool. 3. Being close to Jamboree means being close to stores, shops, and restaurants. In...

    Rent vs. Own

Hey, I know a lot of kids in their early 20's who cannot even afford to rent - they still live with family. Then I know others who are in their late 20's who can afford to rent, but are to cheap to do so - they still live with family. Renting is a lot more affordable than owning right...

    Rent vs. Own

I used to think that renting is throwing away your money too. I used to rent a place for $1200/month. But after becoming more knowledgeable about financing, I realized that owning is like throwing away your money to interest, property tax, and HOA fees. Fortunately, I currently live with my...

University High School versus Northwood High School

Are we simply comparing among top tier high schools? Or we comparing schools in Irvine to schools in Santa Ana? Personally, I would not like my future children to attend schools in Santa Ana, Anaheim, or Garden Grove. Regardless of whether they'll be good students or not, they'll still be...

    3000 The Plaza

Although I wouldn't be able to afford a unit at the Plaza, I am very impressed by it. Although the SFR is the traditional OC standard, I would love to swim on a rooftop pool. And if I was a teenager, there would be so much bragging rights in having friends over to hang out there. If I was...
