    Avila at Eastwood:

Congrats. Same here, we bought Elderberry last week. I never looked into Avila seriously but considered Juniper. After consulting with few people decided to go with EB. Time will tell if this is a good decision or not. I got into Plan 2.

    Avila at Eastwood:

There are few expert realtors on this forum such as USC, they can probably shed more light on it as well. Putting things in perspective Time it takes to get from Avila to Elderberry: 5-7 mins max Price difference: Avilla ( 10% expensive) Go figure this out, and buy what you can afford.

Not sure if i will be able to pay more than what i am required to, so on this trend i would pay 100K principal in next 5 year, with balance left to around 935K after 5 years.

    Orchard Hills a good buy?

Agreed. I think resale will stay stronger, however new homes about 1.3+ will be impacted.

    Orchard Hills a good buy?

There was a study done by Chapman university very recently, where they have predicted home prices will drop by 10%+ due to new Tax reforms. Higher interest rate and less deductions will make it harder for people to upgrade to bigger homes. I am guessing what today is selling for 1.4M, in Dec...

Portola Springs Neighborhood 4B: Brisa, Celeste and Talise

WOW. $500/sf+ for detached condos. Is this the new normal? Friend got a price sheet from Celeste, where 1600 SQFT, Plan 3 is listed at 845K base price+ 35K upgrades= 880. Unbelievable. Thoughts on the price?

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

No more deduction for interest on home equity debt. A $10,000 cap on the deduction for real estate taxes. A new requirement that you own your home for 5 years ? rather than 2 ? before you can sell it tax-free. It?s not a great time to sell houses for a living. Winner: Rental Real Estate Owners...

Can you avoid capital gain taxes, if you upgrade your residence, say you move up from 1200 SQFT condo to 2000 SQFT SFH for example?

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

OK. I am going to sell my 1.5M home, and move into rental from an FCB owner. Then I will invest that money in Apple and Microsoft. Way to go.

In addition to this, you will not get any tax benefits if you have dependents? or Standard deductions are going to take care of that?
