Again- the problem is implementation.  We had a similar issue to what IrvineRes had mentioned.  One of the 6th grade teachers in our school never had time to go over this "box and whiskers" method, so the whole classroom was at a disadvantage.  How is it fair for IUSD to put this on a test? ...

Irvinecommuter- it's not about the ability to make it into college-  it's about the ability to have the option to take it in high school, for which I know my child would be fully capable.

When IUSD is the only district using this exam as the end-all be-all as the evaluation for a kid's ability to take Algebra or 8th grade math as a 7th grader, then I disagree.  My child is at a disadvantage to kids at Newport-Mesa, Tustin, etc school districts.  I don't think kids can be taking...

Common core implementation is a huge issue- which really puts all the 6th graders at a huge disadvantage for determining their math path into high school. 

One of my friends had a kid that didn't pass the exam either.  The kid was even taking that Avid math class.  Anyways- this mom called the district and asked if other school districts were also doing this test.  Jocelyn @ IUSD said no - only the Irvine school district is doing this.  Way to...

Sentosa- did you call Jocelyn and reserve your child's spot for the next test date?  Which section did your child miss- probability? 

How many here have current 6th graders? 6th graders took the MSMAT in May.  This test was given to all 6th graders to see if they can test out of Common Core 7th grade math.  If that happens, they can then take the AAT test in a few weeks which will test them out of Common Core 8th grade math...

I am in my mid-40s.  I do not have a tattoo- nobody got them when I was in college either.  Honestly, I am glad I don't have any and would never contemplate getting one. 

I only like single level and location is key (near the 73).  So that means resale if living in Irvine.

It looks like Laguna Altura kids will go to the new high school too.

I'd have the seller credit you towards the cost of the spot repairs and then tent the house.  I'd get my own termite person to do the spot repairs and then have a contract with that company going forward for annual checks/maintenance.
