    Haiku Fans

No experience with the Haiku fans, but from the specs (52" blades, 60~180RPM, plastic resin blades), it seems pretty similar to the Minka Aire units I have installed, and they move enough air for me in my 12x12 rooms.  Price for the L-series with the wall control option seems pretty reasonable...

    Haggen already closing

Daiso is a 1.50 store...does that make it a high end 99 cent store, therefore okay for Irvine?

How much did u pay for water softner?

I paid about 500.00 for a GE 45,000 grain softener through the GE employee discount site posted in another thread here, and another 500.00 for installation, which I thought was too much.  The initial installation quote was 350.00, but the plumber didn't account for a waste water drain.  He ran...

    Rice

We've been eating Haiga rice in our house.  It's somewhere in between white rice and brown rice.  Tastes like white rice but closer to brown rice in nutrients.  This was only available from Tamaki for a while, and it's not cheap at 20.00 for a 15 lb bag when it's on sale (30.00 regularly).  Now...

    O'Shine Taiwanese Restaurant (Tustin)

The daughter wanted to run the restaurant, so they reopened it.  It's funny now you see a bunch of Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Lexus in the parking lot now.  Looks like they're drawing the Irvine crowd to Tustin pretty successfully.

The Chinese name roughly translate to golden dollar/garden/circle is a pretty generic pork chop store name.  Kind of like how all Chinese BBQ name is some variation of Sam Woo, but they're not all the same.
