Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

I'm sorry you misunderstood. "In the 10 years time frame of this plan" means years 0 through 10. This is before any of the breaks expire (although the corporate tax reduction and elimination of estate tax would be permanent).

    Daycares

What are you looing for in a daycare? At 1-2 years there isn't much of a "curriculum" other than socializing with other toddlers. You will probably end up paying somewhere around $1500-$2000/mo if you are doing full time five days a week.

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

Here's one unintended benefit from generating the large deficit that comes with it. A strong dollar will make it more expensive for foreigners to buy up houses in the US.

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

In the 10 years time frame of this plan, 50% of households would see an INCREASE in taxes and the deficit will grow between $1.0tn (Tax Foundation Model) and $1.7tn (Penn-Wharton Model). The conservative leaning Tax Foundation can only attribute about $1tn in revenue growth due to economic...

    undisclosed asbestos

I doubt it. You signed the thing with the box unchecked. You can try your luck in small claims but even that might be a stretch.

    undisclosed asbestos

For us, seller specified NO on Item 1 but home inspection revealed some exposed asbestos in the ducting and furnace pipe. We raised it as something we wanted to be addressed by the seller but their take (and that of their agent) was that it was standard practice by the builder and as such not...

    undisclosed asbestos

Irvine 1977 is most definitely asbestos up there. No need to test. Which neighborhood?

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

Energy sector essentially pays negative tax. It's not a broad brush that gets applied everywhere. Some industries will benefit but not all of them as a whole. A good example is looking at small-cap stocks. Those are touted as the biggest beneficiaries of the new corporate tax rates.

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

That's year 1. What about over the next 10 years? That figure is about 25%.  Meaning, that 75% would pay less or stay the same. The tax plan has now become a health plan as well (ACA repeal is codified in it). Most in the medical/insurance industry disagree with that assessment. I'll believe...

Protester Arrested at Mimi Walter?s Office

I guess you missed the link to the next story on this article. http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-tax-reform-republican-plan-biggest-loser-2017-11 The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation found that people who earn between $200,000 and $500,000 would see the most tax increases under the...

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

"benefit" is a loosely defined word for you, I guess. Of those 99.9% about 1/4 households will see an increase in taxes. Medicare will see a mandatory reduction of $25bn. Health Insurance premiums will spike for a large swatch of that group if the ACA mandate is repealed. The $1.5t deficit is a...

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

You can use tax policy to encourage/discourage certain social behaviors. What's this is essentially doing, is making it more difficult to get a post-graduate degree and discouraging people for pursuing this (who already do it despite the 4-8 years of living close to poverty, the post-doc years...

Trump Tax Reform and Home Prices

When you are in graduate school you get deferred waived tuition when you work as a teaching assistant or graduate student researcher. You get a stipend as well that is slightly above poverty levels. The tax plan includes a provision to treat the cost of tuition as income. It's especially bad if...

Replaced the screws for my front door.

Just live somewhere where your neighbors keep theirs open. Crooks won't bother with yours. Or get a big mean dog.

Replaced the screws for my front door.

Here's the thing though, you can do a jam and replay but it requires you to be in proximity while the door is being activated. This is similar to what has been going on with RF entry to high end cars. With Z-Wave (ZigBee and Wifi for that matter) the thing is that a crook can drive around with...

Replaced the screws for my front door.

The keypad is a networked device via Z-Wave. Traffic is encrypted but not very well. The key to your network can be extracted from sniffed traffic. If you want a keypad, just get one that does not also have wireless access to it.

Replaced the screws for my front door.

You go through all this trouble and you end up putting a Z-Wave lock on your front door?!?! If this is older gen Z-Wave you may as well leave the door unlocked ...

It's only a proposal at this point and who knows what the final shape will be. If you don't like it, call your representative.
