Area between Furrow St. and Bella Vista in OH

Yes, those are the lot sizes.  Those dimensions are the minimum design requirements and some of the lots are actually bigger.  Most of the lot are around mid-5000 s.f. but  there are a few in the 7,000 to 8,000 s.f. range.  Since there are 3 different size of lots, there will be 3 different...

Why America?s New Apartment Buildings All Look the Same

Interesting read indeed, thanks for posting. Can't believe they are allowed  to build an 18-story dormitory out of wood beams, that's just crazy.

    Housing Analysis

I wouldn't blame the media for reporting the facts but I hate some of the headlines that are just trying to grab attention and give an impression the housing market is totally tanking right now but it is not. Housing market is indeed slowing down, shifting from a hot seller's market towards a...

    Orchard Hills Neighborhood 3

I did not know. But I'm surprised how small the price differences between these premium lot and others.  The others home site's lot size (#37 & #38) are just a little over 4000 sf according to the city planning office's document.  If the home site 1,2,3's lot size are indeed over 7,000 sf...

    Orchard Hills Neighborhood 3

There are many larger lots and many are over 6000 sf.  3 of the 5 homes just released (lot 1, 2 and 3) have lot size over 7,000 sf according to the city doc. The biggest lot is the lot 83  with over 10,000 sf. (mark with red cross in the map below).

When would be next housing Bottom?

Agree, and that's why I'm agreeing with IHO that it is not worth the wait to buy in Irvine for a slim possibility of some discount. If one want to wait and find some good deal in the surrounding cities during the slowdown, that's probably a good idea.  But don't expect any significant discount...

    Housing Analysis

You bring up a good point about inflation adjusted prices. Right before the last housing bubble burst, most new builds here in Irvine were asking around $400/s.f.  And now we adjusted for inflation, that's about $500/s.f. in today money.  So the real home price after adjusted for inflation are...

The Great Crash 10 Years Later

Around $1800 for $210k mortgage.  $1800 was not much by today?s standard but that was a big deal for me back in 1994 and I was just started working with a tiny starting salary.

    Housing Analysis

But the price is still up from a year ago right?  That OCR article leave one important data out for some reason.  It is still possible that with the inventory goes up, sales goes down but the price continue to go up modestly.  With strong economy, relative low interest rate and extremely low...

The Great Crash 10 Years Later

IIRC, there was a recession and housing market took a hit.  And the mortgage was indeed high.  I bought my first home in '94 and my rate was 9.5%.

How low can we go? 30 yr fixed at 3.75% with no fees...

We should change the thread title to "How high can we go?" Anyone think it will hit 6% for 30 year fixed?  I think it's possible that it reaches close to 6% but just briefly though.  Once the rate hit that level, the recession probably starts to kick in and the rate starts to reverse it's...
