68 Irvine townhomes priced as low as $425,000

but this assumes your alternative option is buying a $1m townhome.  for people who qualify for one of these houses, the alternative is renting. if you buy one of these low-cost townhomes you're paying like $3k or so a month in mortgage + HOA.  i doubt you can rent a similar townhome in PS for...

68 Irvine townhomes priced as low as $425,000

I doubt it would be too difficult to sell. It's just that your gains will be much lower. Plus the HOA is pretty high. Just look at the chart of OC median household income growth over time. It's not great.

    How is workplace?

I've heard this my whole career and even had it brought up a couple times in performance reviews but I've still chosen to work remotely as much as possible (probably averaged 1-2 days a week in the office pre pandemic).

    INFLATION IS OUR FRIEND

"The town has long been known for having some of the highest prices in the country. A sign at the gas station notes the next nearest station is 40 miles away to the north and 12 miles to the south."

Cetara Orchard Hills The Groves Shea Homes

i have no idea what i'd do with a 4k sqft house.  i'm moving up from 1000 sqft to 2300 sqft and already trying to figure out what to do with the space.  4k and my inlaws would never leave.

    How soon until Bitcoin crashes?

That article was indeed long, but with very little substance Of course Bitcoin is a bubble. It has essentially no utility. The only reason people want it is because they think the price will be higher tomorrow. But the same can be said about lots of assets, like comic books and Pokemon cards...

Observations from the front lines of the Irvine housing market?

zero inflation is worse because downward nominal wage rigidity is extremely strong in the US.  cutting (nominal) salaries is basically a death sentence for a company.  but without inflation, companies have no other option in downturns.  inflation caused by natural growth in money supply is...

Zillow stop buying homes (for now)

they probably got a huge spike in business for this service because of the hot housing market and people wanting to access their equity in current house to trade up to another house (and w/ contingent offers being impossible in a sellers market).  it is not that surprising that they would...

zero inflation would result in higher unemployment rate and lower GDP.  there's no free lunch.

Observations from the front lines of the Irvine housing market?

Always makes me laugh when you see a house listed by redfin and it says "hot home." Oh yeah I trust that But if Zillow bought from this guy and resold for about the same price they made money. People keep ignoring the fees.
