Orchard Hills 4 - "The Summit" Updates

This is why we love our current home. 4 BR (one BR downstairs) with its own bath + powder room downstairs + loft. And the full walk-in pantry is my wife's dream.

I'm not a software engineer, if that helps. I majored in EECS at Cal.

No, we can choose iPhone or Samsung as our work phones, but not the latest one.

I thought you figured it out. Maybe it was MCC that figured it out. I did mention that my drive to work is less than 15 minutes.

Orchard Hills 4 - "The Summit" Updates

Yeah, it's just a waste of time and energy to think about what others can afford to buy.

Orchard Hills 4 - "The Summit" Updates

Same for us. I still drive my 2017 Prius Prime. My wife used to buy a lot of clothes, but non-expensive ones. Then she realized that she bought too many, so she hasn't bought any clothes for years now. And she doesn't like to buy expensive brand names either. However, the only thing that is...

Other than extra property tax, how is this different from a $3M or $4M house? Also, most Irvine lots can't fit a pool in the backyard. And these $5M lots aren't big enough either. Only the $7M-$8M TB homes have big enough lots to fit a pool. Unless you're talking about those tiny little pools...

Orchard Hills 4 - "The Summit" Updates

Yeah, I think in order to afford $5M+ homes, it would have to be couples that are both highly paid professionals/engineers. I don't think a highly paid specialist doctor with a stay home/normal paid spouse would feel comfortable enough to buy such a home.

Orchard Hills 4 - "The Summit" Updates

I get the gain from vested amount. Don't forget what company I work for. But you have to understand that he's been working for 4 years, at Twitter and Databricks. Twitter didn't move much from second half of 2020 to 2022 before Musk bought it. Whatever RSUs he was getting, it didn't even double...

I doubt that Twitter would pay a fresh out of college engineer $1M a year. He capped, for sure.

I call BS. There's no way an employee with 4 year of experience is making 7 figures. The article says he graduated in 2020. Databricks is a startup, so his stocks aren't worth anything yet.

Where people are moving to and which states you have to make the most money to live in

I'm not really sure how accurate this study is and what is considered a "city". It listed Fremont as #2 and San Jose as #3, but these cities are actually among the cheaper cities in South Bay Area. Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Palo Alto, and Mountain View are all more expensive...

Wow...even more expensive than Fremont, San Jose, and SF.

    Portola Springs fire risk?

Airport Fire would not have affected Portola Springs since it was in RSM. Santa Ana Wind tends to blow southwest, not northwest. RSM and Lake Forest would have been more at risk than PS by Airport Fire.

We moved from IE to Irvine and we couldn't be happier.

Interesting Turtle Rock remodel with a WTF price

Why does it say built in 2025? Did the seller completely renovate this home? It looks completely new.

It's safer and also less work for the USPS. They don't have to drive around the block. And the package lockers come in two sizes, the big one pretty big. I agree that this setup is better.

    Lakers News

Rumors are the Mavs are concerned about Luka's fitness as well. He's like 270 lbs. It's also likely that the Mavs think that Kyrie+AD+Klay give them a better chance. Now the Lakers just need to ship LeBron to the Warriors. 😂

3 car wide garage requires bigger lot width, so that's not going to happen, regardless of how big the home is. At least, this 4911 sf home comes with a 3 car tandem garage. That's the best you're going to get in new Irvine areas.

Orchard Hills 4 - "The Summit" Updates

FCBs are used to living in high rises, so they would naturally value view lots more than larger lots. They're used to not having any lots at all. We value larger lots more than view lots, especially since the premium for larger lots is $100k-$300k while view lot premium is $1.5M. Not worth it...
