    Newport Beach inventory

So you're saying it would be a good time to be in the market for a 6M teardown flip?

    EV/Plug-in/Other vehicles

Macan EV looks awesome. I don't think people who drive gas cars on the daily realize how inconvenient going to the gas station can be. An EV is definitely fantastic for a commuter car. If I had my dream stable, I'd have an EV for every day driving/commuting, a 911, and *maybe* a gas/hybrid...

    Burger Thread

I tried The Cut recently, it was good but quite pricey. My five year old son had never eaten a 'bone' so I had to order the bone marrow for him. Fries were $8. The double smash burger was $14 and didn't even come with fries but *damn* it was tasty. If you're rich, you should go here a lot.

    Tesla Cybertruck

Also I think the cybertruck looks bonkers cool. My son loves them too. I won't pay $80k+, but if it was ~50k I'd be pretty tempted.

    Tesla Cybertruck

no, but I really just want to be able to hit my spotify playlist from the app without paying $8 a month. I can do that from my wife's VW with apple carplay...

    Tesla Cybertruck

I really don't like having to pay for premium connectivity though.

    Taco Tuesday

I thought shake shake was pretty tasty. I like how they fried the meat (but not *too* much) and I liked the seasoning on the beef. Is it worth the price? Maybe? I'm not going to go there more often than Inn & Out, but it exceeded my somewhat low expectations.

    Marble

Marble Steakhouse KBBQ was pretty damn good. I guess they were orignally a fancy steakhouse, but that didn't go well? (Does anyone know the story here?) I don't know much about Korean BBQ, but I took my five year old son there and he and I absolutely loved it. I don't think I've ever seen him...

    Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone. I really need to change my username since i'm not in my 30s anymore (nor even last year) Work has kept me busy, along with kids and all that. I'll try to post here more often as I love SoCal and I credit the original IHB forums for having a significant impact in my...

Features you like in a home (version 3)

Haha it's hilarious people remember how bad Graphix's predictions were. Even worse than larry! I like this list quite a bit, it was very close to what my wife and I looked for when we bought in 2020. 1. We ended up with a four bedroom plus huge open loft upstairs, one bedroom downstairs...

Is Netflix going to die in the next year?

I interviewed at Netflix, and even though I didn't get an offer*, I can say they were my favorite place to interview and seemed like an *exceptionally* well run company. I can't say enough good things about them, and was impressed by everyone and how easy they made the process. *I didn't...

    Work in office or remote?

Both of those companies have rehired up to the headcount of where they were during the layoffs, so that analyst would be wrong. Did/do these companies have *some* deadweight? yes, of course, hence why they do fire under performers, and when the economy can justify it, trim some fat that maybe...

    Work in office or remote?

Tell me the per profit per employee of Twitter/X and then tell me the per profit of Alphabet and Amazon. Elon clearly screwed up by firing too many people. You realize they're desperately trying to hire now right? You can go to the jobs page to see. Many of those roles posted are not just...

    Work in office or remote?

Yes anytime people who don't know what they're talking about ramble on without first handle knowledge it touches a nerve. Profit per employee is some of the *highest* at these 'bloated FAANGs' you're talking about. Not nimble unicorns that just went IPO or "cuthroat" banks. I've worked at...

What are the FAANG companies you've worked at?

    Work in office or remote?

Uh, amazon fires people all the time, and Google does a little less but has an 'up or out' criteria. It sounds like you have no idea wtf you are talking about.

    ICE or EV?

I keep saying, I'm not driving an electric car because of the environment, i'm just trying to get out of paying California's dumbass taxes. Starve the beast! Drive a Tesla!

Accessibility to non HOA pools (ie Northwood)

In Baker Ranch, one pool is heated throughout the year, and all hot tubs are. The other two pools are heated ~9 months of the year.
