So Ca History

I found an LA Times story from 1930 (that's right, just as property values last began to tank like they are now on a national level) that detailed why it was a great time then to invest in real estate. Blog post with...

    talega?

morekaos is right. It is a nice area (indeed a sea of homes as you mentioned), but was built during the boom and is taking it in the shorts in terms of foreclosures and short sales right now. It also depends on where you are commuting to, since the drive is not the best.

University High School versus Northwood High School

The newer schools lack the loyalty of their graduates due the weak student lifestyle identity while attending the school. Bk - This is a great point. UCs tend to lag behind in terms of alumni donations and support, and I think this is part of the reason. In my experience many UC...

University High School versus Northwood High School

some of the most prestigious universities are located in the worst neighborhoods imagined. Yes - or they are located in remote places (Dartmouth, Cornell, etc.), where you can't help but mix school and community. I had this type of experience and really enjoyed it.

    Real Estate Awards (Mega Schadenfreude)

I've visited this neighborhood before...like many of this era, some parts are packed in without driveways, and other areas are much better with full driveways. The best-located places are ones like the property 24 just posted on, since they back to the hill and have yards.

University High School versus Northwood High School

It's a pet peeve of mine when ppl use "we" instead of they. If they actually played on the team, though, it's OK in my book. And, if you're a current student and are referencing your school as "we" (as opposed to the team, as in "our football team") then that's fine as well. I personally...

    Brightwater Huntington Beach reduced 300k?

bk - I vividly remember when some of those homes in Laguna Niguel fell off a cliff a number of years ago, since it was right near where I used to live. University High School versus Northwood High School

The UCLA acceptance rate is very, very low - it's on par with some Ivies. Why? Demand...that school is always at the top if not at the top of the list of schools with the most applicants. I personally would pick the best college that is a good fit for you, and not worry about location...

I've had Jamaican Blue, and you nailed it - good but fairly strong. I think blue is right that Dunkin' is still an east coast kind of thing...had I not lived back east for a few years, I probably never would have even tried the coffee or noticed when they started selling it in stores out...

    2003 Prices or Rollbacks

ABC - With a price that low on the San Gabriel property, I would doubt a lender would agree to that price. Ipo - So you're finally being swayed into considering south OC, huh? I'm still having a tough time deciding between AV, Laguna Niguel and a newer part of Mission called Pacific...
