  • Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies is a phrase I created for my book to describe wonders surrounding every person on earth. We take them for granted just because they are there and most people don't realize their brilliant creation.

The formula for starch is ( C₆H₁₀O₅)n
Cellulose has this same formula but in a straight chain, without coiling or branching.

This is the structure of cellulose, drawn such that there is a carbon atom at every pair of lines intersecting at an angle, and each carbon atom is saturated with a sufficient number of hydrogen atoms to form four bonds.
Parenthesis indicates a repeating link of this long-term chain.

The formula for glucose is C₆H₁₂O₆ .
Glycogen is a branched polymer of glucose where n can range from a few thousand to a hundred thousand.

The formula for sucrose, common sugar, is C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ .

These complex compounds are all carbohydrates, meaning composed of carbon (dioxide) and water - free in our atmosphere.

What can you make from water and air? Plants make the food that sustains almost every living creature - food that recycles itself, at no charge, using sunlight, also at no charge to us. Give thanks to the Brilliant Creator daily for His many Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies, made possible only by complex combinations of very different things and processes.

You have often heard the phrase, "Air holds more water when.." Nonsense.

The vapor pressure of water is independent of the amount of air as seen in this graph. Standard air pressure is 760 Torr (mm of mercury) which equals 14.7 psi.

The vapor pressure of water at 25 degrees is 23.8 Torr with zero air, or with normal atmospheric pressure.

Water don't care about air!

Water is one of many Brilliant Creations. There are many reasons why. My book explores a few of them. Unfortunately I did not research this point and add it. (Graph from chatgpt.com)

“You lose yourself in something outside yourself when you are happy; just as when you are desperately miserable you are intensely conscious of yourself, are a solid little lump of ego weighing a ton.” –Joseph Priestly, chemist, philosopher, theologian

Religiously unaffiliated subjects had significantly more lifetime suicide attempts and more first-degree relatives who committed suicide than subjects who endorsed a religious affiliation. Unaffiliated subjects were younger, less often married, less often had children, and had less contact with family members. Furthermore, subjects with no religious affiliation received fewer reasons for living, particularly fewer moral objections to suicide. In terms of clinical characteristics, religiously unaffiliated subjects had more lifetime impulsivity, aggression, and past substance se disorder. –Religious Affiliation and Suicide Attempt, American Journal of psychiatry, December 2004. - Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life, page 5 footnote

A 10-year study by the Department of Psychiatry, College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University revealed that the offspring of Protestant and Catholic parents were 76% less likely to experience episodes of major depression than the offspring of non-religious parents. The survey notes that Individuals with no religious affiliation are at greater risk for depressive symptoms and disorder... “People involved in their faith communities may be at reduced risk for depression, and private religious activities and beliefs are not strongly related to risk for depression".
