Would you come back?

This decision to close the forums has already alienated a lot of regular posters here. Even if the overlords of IHB decide to keep the forums running, they will have lost a lot of old time regulars. The board will never be the same again. If the forums stay open, I will still use it...

    The Big Goodbye thread

Back when IR became a realtor he assured us that the blog would still be unbiased, and that if he began shoveling BS to sell RE, we would be able to call him out on it. Fast forward 7 months, and we see that the forums are now closing. Credibility takes a long time to earn...this closing of...

    Bkshopr's farewell post.

If I were BK, I would be pissed that all the time I spent educating the internet for free is now going into the IHB archive where no one will be able to see it. BK posted his insights to help as many people as he can. His posts took a lot of time, and thought with pictures and floorplans...

    The Big Goodbye thread

Thank you for hosting this site. It was informative and quite a lot of fun to read. Closing these forums will make me visit IHB less. When I first started reading this site, it was for IR's blog posts, but these days, I find myself going to the forums first, and then the blog second...

    The Big Goodbye thread

I realized that this site generated a lot of popularity and hence generated a lot of money for realtors who could use it to milk for leads. Whether the benefiting posters using it for leads did it out of genuine concern for fellow readers does not matter. What matters was that money was being...

Soylent Green Is People is THE MAN!

I heard from a mortgage broker relative that if a client defaults on a loan, the broker also takes a hit. Is this true?...It's like the banks tie the broker in with their clients, so the more defaults the broker brings in, the worse their reputation becomes with the banks.

Ever been to Rosarito Beach in Mexico?

I know someone who lives in Mexicali and has family in Tijuana. When she wants to get to Tijuana, she crosses the border and drives the US side because the Mexican side is dangerous.

Congress set to expand homebuyer tax credit

I was hoping the tax credit would expire on Nov 30. If the government can extend this credit to cover 1st qtr 2010, why not just extend it until we are back at 2006 pricing? What is to stop them? Inflation? China stops buying US bonds?. A better question to ask is: What happens if...

    Lennar, Drywall & Lawsuit

I understand what you are saying as the end user consumer (owner) should track down the culprit (Chinese Drywall Supplier) to process the suit. I would have thought that the owner could just sue the builder of the home (Lennar, KB, etc.) and then the builder would in turn sue their supplier...

    Lennar, Drywall & Lawsuit

This is back in the news. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091015/ap_on_re_us/us_chinese_drywall Home owner insurance policies do not cover manufacturing defects. I agree with the insurance companies. Why...
