    Landscape designer

Hi, I see many people on here question the value in hiring a Landscape Architect versus a Landscape Designer or a Contractor. Many feel it is a waste of money and an expense to a project. I am with Studio H Landscape Architecture, and I just wanted to through out there that hiring a Landscape...

    Landscape architect vs landscape designer

Hi, I know it has been a while since this was posted but I wanted to answer this question in case anyone down the road is curious. This is a very good question and one that is often misunderstood. I did a blog post on this topic a while back on my website. We are Landscape...

Estimating Landscape Costs for Woodbury and Portola Springs

A $3k - $5k budget makes sense on that size space, I guess I was over estimate the lot size.  In that size space I would certainly add in some pottery with planting to add some vertical interest in a space of that size, maybe even a portable firepit or a small water feature.

Estimating Landscape Costs for Woodbury and Portola Springs

Do you know about how many square feet those sideyards are? Perhaps I'm over estimating the landscape area.  You could go with some pavers, which on the low end will cost $7-$8/sf.  Shrubs will costs $12/ 1 gallon, $30/5 gallon, $150/15 gallon. Each irrigation valve will cost about $600 - $800...

Estimating Landscape Costs for Woodbury and Portola Springs

Thank you for your interest and compliments.  Unfortunately, we have not completed any jobs under 10k.  A sideyard with a budget of 11k might include the following: Total landscape area: 500sf Colored concrete paving (300sf) @ 12/sf = $3,600 Planting: $2,500 Irrigation (2 zones): $1,400...

Estimating Landscape Costs for Woodbury and Portola Springs

As with most jobs, the costs vary greatly depending on what you are trying to accomplish in the space.  Are you looking to add a built-in barbecue, water feature, firepit? Anyone know of a good landscape electrician

The price of landscape lighting can vary depending on the finish and type of fixture.  Generally speaking a brass uplight fixture can range from $35 - $85 each, wholesale price, and can be installed for about $50 each, plus the cost of the wire and a transformer if needed.  Transformers will run...

    Landscaping for a Woodbury SFR

Good afternoon everyone, I just received a little updated information on some modern paver pricing through Stepstone Inc. that I thought I would share as I had a few questions about this last week.  According to stepstone, their 4x18 modular pavers cost about $9/sf, which is a lot more than I...

    Landscaping for a Woodbury SFR

Typically the fairly standard pavers start at $7/sf, also this would probably need to be a larger area, like say 500 plus sf.  The pattern can't be too too detailed either, so perhaps an ashler pattern paver or a brick pattern.  The more angles and edges the more time and waste there is and the...

    Landscaping for a Woodbury SFR

abcd1234,  You're very welcome, happy to help.  Just an FYI, demo of existing hardscape should cost about $1.50/sf , large trees might be $500 - $1,000 each.  The dump charges are actually fairly expensive and is a large part of demo costs.

    Landscaping for a Woodbury SFR

Good afternoon everyone.  There seem to be a lot of questions about paver costs so let me see if I can answer those.  Pavers actually can be less expensive than colored concrete.  Generally, colored concrete will cost about $10/sf, this used to be $12-$13/sf but has dropped with the economy. ...

    Landscaping for a Woodbury SFR

Mid-Century Modern is my personal favorite design style, perhaps you have an Eichler home in Orange? By "Modern Pavers" I was referring to a paver that isn't the traditional style pavers that we see in most projects, in realty, maybe they are more Contemporary.  Here are a few "Modern" pavers...
